Lieberman is going to campaign as an incumbent and an Independent. It will be interesting what the Republicans in Connecticut will do. I have read elsewhere that the Republican candidate for Senate (I don't even know his name) has no shot at winning. The race is between a Democratic Party nominee and Independent Joe Lieberman.
A Lieberman victory would be embarrassing for both Democrats and Republicans. A Lieberman victory would spank the Appeasement minded peacenik voters of the Democratic Party. A Lieberman victory would demonstrate that there were Republicans that abandoned the Party sanctioned candidate in favor of Lieberman.
On what Senate committees would Lieberman serve as an Independent? Would an irritated Democratic Party strip Lieberman of his Committee appointments? Would the Republican Party place Lieberman on key Committees to annoy the Democratic Party?
