Cut Off the Serpents Head

Daniel Pipes is suggesting for the beginning of peace to stick in conflicts involving Israel, that it is time to hold those accountable that provide the means to engage Israel.

Yes Islamofascist terrorists (Sunni and Shi'ite) inflict murder and mayhem, however their funds and weapons come from some where. I am convinced the Israelis do not willing provide money to terrorists to be used against Jews. (Though the West has forced the Israelis to collect taxes and redistribute the revenue back to the PA, which is just one happy family of Islamofascist terrorists.)

Daniel Pipes is saying the current culprits are Iran (the primary) and Syria (the conduit puppet for Iran). The two nations need to be confronted! If oil is used as extortion, war is another means of achieving a political goal (Clausewitz).

The Saudis are not innocent in the funding area. The Saudis do a huge share of funding the PA. The Saudis rulers are market minded than their highly influential Imams. As long as the Saudis rule, oil is less of extortionary tool than a Saud family enrichment corporation. The Saudis are thirsty for the capital as much as the West is thirsty for the oil. I can only imagine the back room brokering diplomatically and economically in relation to the Saudis.

On the other hand the Saudis need to constantly watch their backs. There are people that have the mentality of Osama bin Laden who himself is a former citizen of Saudi Arabia. Among the Wahhabi sect of Saudi Arabia, the like of bin Laden and al Qaeda are heroes. There is always the potential for a Sunni version of the Iranian (Ayatollah) Revolution taking place in Saudi Arabia. That is al Qaeda's dream.

Is the West willing to suck it up and confront the actual culprits in Middle East conflict? In the current situation I doubt it.
