I came across a blog on the Yahoo 360 that is written about the trustworthiness of the Bible as the Word of God.
Many atheists and anti-Christians will dismiss the blog's initial positions as based on subjectivity rather than objectivity. As if "objectivity" is the measuring rod for all valid and Truth. People as myself place the spiritual realm above the observable sense realm.
The point that is awesome about this blog is how the sense realm dominitated people accept ancient manuscripts as valid versus invalid.
Here is Yahoo 360 Blog entry:
How can you know the Bible is trustworthy?
I think it's impossible to answer that question without using the Bible, because otherwise we have to rely on our own thoughts or feelings, or those of others, and we all know how very changeable we are in both those areas! It's human nature to let our own experiences color our answer to that question to either the positive or negative. Yet, there's no doubt that thousands, even millions, of us know in our hearts the Bible is true because of the Witness in our own spirits, and also by the way the Bible has influenced our lives, and changed us for the better.
So to answer the question, I hope you will seriously consider this :
1) We can believe the Bible because Jesus, who is TRUTH Himself, said the Bible is His Word, and we know in Him there's not even the shadow of changing! He is the same yesterday, today and forever. So by His own testamony we know the Bible is the Word of God, for Jesus is the Word Incarnate in flesh.
2) Jesus proved He was God by His many miracles, including raising Himself from the dead. He said he'd lay his life down and He'd take it up again, and He did!
3) He also confirmed the Old Testament by quoting from it, proving the Scriptures were true and accurate.
4) Jesus also promised the New Testament through His disciples by sending the Comforter and establishing the Church, and their recording things He said, brought to their rememberance by the Holy Spirit.
5) The New Testament has proven itself to be a historically reliable document. Plus, more and more facts are being proven all the time.
Now as for knowing how accurately the Bible has been copied and passed down over the many, many years, here's what helped me. Think about this:
Today there is no one who doubts the texts of Homer's "Iliad", the most famous book of ancient Greece, for which there were only 643 copies found.
Nor do they doubt Julius Caesers's "Gallic Wars" with only 10 copies found and the earliest copies of that was made 1,000 years after it was written.
In comparison we have 5,366 manuscripts of the New Testament from dates within 70 years of their first writing!
In all of those copies there are slight variants of spelling or word order, but we have 100% of the New Testament and are sure about 99.5% of it. So the Bibles we have today are so close to the original that we can have every confidence that what they teach is truth!
Praise the Lord, He is more than able to keep His Word preserved for all generations, and to prove it!!!
For any of you wanting to read some VERY informative books that will increase your faith and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word, I'd like to share two books that have been special to me, and what I refer to when I have doubts or questions. I have to give credit to them for answering alot of my questions and helping to answer my own wonderings about the inerrantcy of the Bible. I hope you'll check them out soon.
"When Skeptics Ask" by Norm Geisler & R.M. Brooks, and
"I Don't Have Enough FAITH to be an ATHEIST!" by Norm Geisler & Frank Turek
Did you catch that about the manuscripts? Ten copies of Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars and over five thousand manuscripts of relating to the Bible. For secularist it is all about perception of Truth; thus the Gallic Wars is attributable to Caesar and the Bible is not attributable to God. Why? Pre-conceived perception is the answer.

I will leave anonymous' comment up in the spirit of debate; however it should be known the website he provides is a Mohammedan site designed to directly refute Christianity and the Holy Bible.
So if you visit there (as I did), note it will deny Jesus is the Son of God and attempt to point out where the Bible contradicts itself.
Be it known where the Bible appears to contradict itself are places in which Jesus fulfills the penalty of the Law. That is why Modern Christians do not stone homosexuals or cut off the hands of thieves.
On the other hand the Quran is full of contradictions. One classic example is a call to protect the people of the Book (i.e. Christians and Jews) followed by way numerous accounts of kill wherever you find them.
The Bible in a Christian's faith has Jesus as the Prince of Peace; yes Christians have ignored that precept over the years and killed in the name of Christ. The killing is contrary to the Word of God.
In the Quran killing is a form of evangelism or the threat of death a program to make Christians and Jews second class citizens or face the penalty of death. Does "kill all those that offend Islam" sound familiar? It is ingrained in Mohammedan scripture to kill and perform acts of violence.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and following Jesus will end in peace and harmony if not in this life, in the life to come.
