GOD AND GEORGE WASHINGTON
I wish I had found this tidbit of history on President’s Day. Michael and Jana Novak wrote an essay that demonstrates the huge amount of private and public time the Father of our nation honored God Almighty.
George Washington gave thanks to the Divine Providence that often protected his life in cases that others of his day would have died. Washington escaped death so often in military service to both British and Revolutionary America that death avoidance became legendary.
Washington gave thanks so often to God in his day that it makes George W. Bush look secular in comparison today.
