Mark Alexander of The Patriot Post has some well founded insights for Christians on how to respond spiritually and politically to homosexuality so that there is not a spiral toward hate-speech. (Inevitably, all positions against any homosexuality will be regarded as hate-speech; nonetheless there is a response a Christian can feel comfortable and not be hateful.)
As for how to show God's love to sinners, Romans 12:21 teaches, "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." We are thus commanded to reach out unconditionally in love, and seek to heal. Fortunately, because we are all sinners, the expression of unconditional love by other Christians is often the gateway to healing our own souls.
Christians should not revile homosexuals, rather Christians should present the Good News. Acceptance or rejection of the Good News is on the hearer spiritually.
Politically Christians need to support organizations that battle well funded Leftist and secular humanistic organizations. Christians should not render evil with evil; however in rendering good instead of evil, Christians should not become the political doormat for homosexuals. Make no mistake, gender bending transformation is the goal of homosexual lobbyists. Christians need to vote politically for Christian transforming agendas. It is a Christian's right to vote as much as it is a Liberal secular humanist's right to vote. We live in America.
