The old Red Dragon is taking all it can get from the West to build its economy. The money in turn appears to be building a military infrastructure to compete with American hegemony on a global scale.
Red China is the premier arms dealer to the enemies of America and to despotic tyrants in the world. China is bartering military weapons for much needed resources to emerge as the big Red Dragon first in their region, then one speculates - the world.
No scenario of Communist China as a manipulator on the world stage is a good scenario. It will be re-implimenting the Iron Curtain via the old Bamboo Curtain.
