Ayatollah’s Grandson Calls for U.S. Overthrow of Iran

Long dead Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s grandson – Hossein Khomeini – has done something quite amazing. The young Shi’ite cleric has called for America to invade Iran to liberate his people from the tyranny of the present regime. Young Khomeini has said,

“My grandfather's revolution has devoured its children and has strayed from its course”.

It is amazing that someone from the bloodline of Ruhollah Khomeini can say such a thing. Young Khomeini says his granddad’s revolution was about freedom and democracy and has implied the clerics that have since replaced grandpa are repressive and abusive of power.

Young Khomeini also has said publicly that Iran’s drive for nuclear weapons is wrong and should be abandoned.

It is interesting to note that almost all the Iranian dissident groups call for American aid to start a counter revolution in Iran. Apparently the thought of foreign invasion is so abhorrent to Iranians that they will rally behind whoever is in power to help repel it. Even the son of the late Shah of Iran says the idea of an American invasion is a repulsive idea. The late Shah’s son he cannot imagine a foreign army marching down the streets of Tehran.
