Revolutionary Guard Leader Planned British Abduction?

Well I have read that Ayatollah Khamenei was the source of the order given to kidnap British Marines and Sailors in Iraqi waters. The reason given in that story was retaliation for United Nations Security Council sanctions.

Now I am reading from Power Line That Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi der Fuhrer of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and ardent political ally of President Ahmadinejad planned the operation as retaliation for American and the Allies of the willing caught Revolutionary Guard spies in Iraq. Safavi’s end game is probably an exchange of British Marines/Sailors captured in Iraqi waters for Iranian spies captured in Iraq.

Hmm … The appearance is that Iran is doing all the sovereignty violations and expects all the due of the one violated? Typical.

Iran’s Khamenei Ordered Abductions as a Reprisal to U.N. Sanctions

Now how the weak knees of Britain and her allies react to some new information: Dissidents in Iran have acquired information that the Iranian act of war was no mere accident of wrong place at the wrong time. Iran’s abduction of British Marines and Sailors is a reprisal for U.N. tighter sanctions called from the very top: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Britain and America need to demonstrate strength before it is too late. If Iran treats the British captives as a criminal case or abuses them contrary to international Geneva Conventions, instead of hand wringing a demonstration of the power of the West has to extend beyond economic punishment. Britain and America need to act as one to use the Hostages as an excuse to carpet bomb known nuclear facilities and if the need arises, bomb the Iran economy into submission.

THE WEST FAILS TO CROSS LINE IN THE SAND

Well it looks like the Brits are not going to dare to cross the line drawn in the sand by Iran.

You know growing up as a baby boomer there is an old story that is told. Unfortunately the failing memory of depleting synapses is sketchy on the details and the fact/fiction quality of the story. I am certain many of you have heard the story, so if I butcher it see the point and not the prose.

Briefly the story goes a healthy yet remarkably skin and bones lad is on the beach with a gal. The time was marvelous. In the old days of fun at the beach the big muscle guys worked out there. As it turns out the gal caught the eye of one of the muscle men.

He strolls over to the thin boy. He draws a line in the sand. Muscle man tells skin and bones with a wink toward the gal, “Boy if you cross the line and meet my challenge I will leave you alone, if you don’t that sweet thing on the beach towel next to you comes with me.”

The boy knows he would be pulverized by mister muscles and lowers his head. His gal giggles and leaps to the muscle man’s side. Mister muscles kicks sand in the face of the boy and walks off with the girl.

Yeah I know those chauvinistic days are gone (well officially, I still think the feminist would leap at the opportunity of a muscular man).

The boy is humiliated. How does he handle this heinous insult to his dignity? Does he whisper to his friends and acquaintances that he will launch a diplomatic negotiation with the muscle man and his muscle pals to show truly that his skin and bones are not worthy of such insults? If the boy went to muscle man territory on the beach to demonstrate his verbal prowess of elocution, how do you think the muscle nation will respond? They will probably slap him around and kick a little more sand and laugh a little harder. The boy does not realize that an intellectual exchange with Neanderthals will not succeed. Neanderthals act with what works until the act fails to work.

What does the boy do? He bucks up and works out. Skin and bones become muscle and sinew. The boy not only has an intellect but the strength to back up his words. The boy confidently enters muscle beach to dish out some power to the Neanderthal.

The young man approaches Neanderthal (who still has his gal) and draws a line in the sand. It turns out Neanderthal is a coward. He lacks the intellect to engage a person of equal or greater strength. Muscle man does not cross the line in the sand and flees. The girl is impressed. (Here I’d like to think the young man realizes there are better mermaids in the sea and waves her off, but I don’t remember.)

Britain and America have long left the days of skin and bones behind. Challenge the scoundrel Iran in response to their act of war.

Saudi Peace Plan is an Israeli Suicide Plan

It is appearing more and more that the Saudi Peace Plan is more of an ultimatum to Israel than a solution for a coexistent Statehood for Israel and Palestine.

The insinuation is Israeli non-compliance will lead to the Mohammedan alternative: a unified Mohammedan war with the Land of Israel.

Let us pray the Appeasers and war weary do not submit to the Saudi Peace Plan. The Plan calls for Israel to withdraw to 1967 borders before the Arab Middle East tried to obliterate Israel that same year. It also demands that the Eastern portion of Jerusalem (which was Jordanian in pre-1967) be set up as the Capital of a Palestinian State.

This Peace Plan is a suicide plan for Israel. The Arab/Mohammedan envisioning of peace is the elimination of Israel.

Iran's seizure of British sailors raises the stakes

Iran wanted to humiliate the British by sanctimoniously proclaiming there would be no negotiation for marine/sailor release until the Brits admitted their cohort was in Iranian waters.

The British have responded with the smoking gun proof that indeed it was Iran that violated Iraqi waters and in an act of war kidnapped the British Marines/Sailors.

Obviously Iran is using some kind of threat on the captured Brits, for the lone female was made to say on video the Brits were in Iranian waters. So despite the pictures of the captured Brits heartily eating a meal, some kind of mind manipulation or extortion is in play.

Saudi Arabia implies the Middle Eastern Arab world is ready to go to war with Israel. Why? The Saudi have an initiative for a Palestinian State that requires Israel to withdraw from land acquired after defeating a multi-nation Arab invasion in 1967.

I think Israel would foolishly acquiesce to the Saudis except for on small part of the Saudi Peace Initiative. The giving up of all the 1967 territory that should be considered compensation for Arab invasion would include East Jerusalem. The most Holy Site in Judaism is in the eastern portion of Jerusalem – The Temple Mount. Further the entirety of Jerusalem to Jews is the city of David, the king of God’s promise that a descendant would always be in a position to rule Israel. I am assuming for Jews that is a coming Jewish Messiah. For Christians it is Jesus Christ in which His human heritage can be traced back to David via Mary and his step-father Joseph independently.

For Israel to give up any part of Jerusalem would signal the beginning of the Muslim Arab dream: The obliteration of Israel and Jews from the Middle East.

As to be expected the Iranian government is displaying its true nature. The Iranian government has proclaimed that Britain must humiliate itself by apologizing and telling the world their marines were in Iranian waters. Check this out: Only then will there be any talks of release of the British Marines and Sailors. So what Iran is putting on the table the British have to self-immolate themselves and still Iran may not give up their marines that were captured illegally in Iraqi waters.

Mohammedanism will call all who do not believe in Allah and its prophet Mohammed as evil and doomed to judgment. Mohammedanism will fabricate lies about Christianity and Judaism as the people of the Book and allow them to live only if they promise submission to Allah. The current goal of the majority of Middle Eastern Mohammedans is the death of monikers Great Satan (America) and the little Satan (Israel). Mohammedanism wiped the existence of Buddhism from Afghanistan and ancient India. Mohammedanism tortured and murdered polytheistic Hindus in genocidal numbers until it was decided for convenience sake to extend dhimmitude and the jizya tax on the Hindus to perpetuate empire.

What is evil? It is a group of people that practice a religion stuck in the Middle Ages time zone while the present is the 21st Century. What is evil are the Mohammedans residing in Western nations and yet subscribing to Wahhabi tenets that believe nothing in Mohammedan theology is valid after 1000 AD (by Christian reckoning).

What is ludicrous is judging Mohammedanism by Western values of Freedom and Liberty when those very principles are used to encourage Mohammedan supremacy at the expense of Freedom and Liberty.

Iran says the Brits are Spies

The NEOCON EXPRESS blog has alerted me to a Times Online article that indicates Ahmadinejad intends to prosecute the British military personal that were captured for espionage.

We all know that Iran has dipped into their typical bag of lies and claim that the British were in Iranian waters. The fact is the British were on routine patrol to checking for smugglers and terrorists coming in or out of Iraq.

This makes Iran’s well laid trap an act of war against Britain and by association Britain’s ally the United States. How will the British and Americans respond to this overt act of war? My guess is the namby pamby Left in both nations will whine that Britain and America deserved to be spanked by Iran and we should negotiate peace in our time and give Iran whatever the Islamofascist Messianic fanatics wish.

Who knows? I am just a blogger, I might be wrong about how Britain and America has caved in toward Leftist cowardice.

Wow! I was doing some research on the old Odessa post-WWII group that helped Nazis (war criminals and ideologues) escape Germany. In so doing I came across this web page entitled, “The Nazi, Communist and Radical Islamist Connection.” It basically explains that moderate Mohammedanism is not so moderate, particularly in the Middle East in which Hitler’s Nazi ideology is nearly considered heroic among the common people.

U.N. unanimously approves Iran sanctions

The U.N. Security Council has actually stepped to the plate to deliver tougher (well at a little increased) sanctions on Iran. The sanctions only have little more teeth to its bite thus I perceive it will be ignored again. Ignoring the Security Council sanctions means even more time for Iran to enrich weapons grade uranium.

A signal that Iran will ignore Security Council wishes to halt uranium enrichment is the capture of British Sailors. The act was provocative and will probably be used as a negotiating tool. The trading of lives is the primary of tool of negotiation by Mohammedan and terrorist organizations.

So Iran has kidnapped British sailors under sketchy circumstances as to whose waters belonged to whom.

The U.N. Security Council is supposed to take action on yet another moment of Iran ignoring compliance to uranium enrichment.

PHILADELPHIA, Mar. 23 /Standard Newswire/ -- According to two researchers, the largest random sex survey ever conducted has reported that only 1.4% of adults engaged in homosexual behavior. Analyzing a 2003 Canadian Community survey of 121,300 adults, Drs. Paul and Kirk Cameron told attendees of the Eastern Psychological Association Convention that 2% of 18-44 year olds, 1% of 50 year olds, and only a third of a percent of subjects 60+ considered themselves homosexual. What is that new religion? It is Secular Humanism.

Secular Humanism actively attacks the foundations of Biblical morality. In Britain the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights has recommended regulations that would make it illegal for private or Christian Schools to teach Biblical Morality, viz. that homosexuality is a sin. The effect is to make Christian teachings illegal.

You may think the day would never come when preaching the Gospel would be illegal in a Western country—when governments would restrict what Christians can teach.

You would be wrong. The persecution against the Church has taken a decisive turn in the cradle of civil liberty—the United Kingdom (UK). And it will happen in America, also, if we do not wake up to the danger.

In London last month, the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Human Rights recommended regulations that would make it illegal for private, religious schools to teach that homosexual conduct is immoral. The committee claimed the regulations are needed to combat discrimination against homosexuals.

And we know about this. Last summer, the British government closed down our IFI unit because we teach that sex should be limited to heterosexual marriage. And if these regulations violate the rights of Christians—what does the government say? “Too bad.”

Luke Gormally, a fellow at London’s Linacre Centre, a Christian bioethics institute, put it this way: “The Committee could not be clearer in saying that they believe the freedom to live a practicing homosexual lifestyle trumps the freedom to live a religious lifestyle.”

The committee explicitly said that no exemption should be made for Christian schools. So, unbelievable though it sounds, Gormally notes, when it comes to sexual morality, the committee would make it illegal for Christian schools “to teach that Christianity and its principles are ‘objectively true.’”

Christian schools will not be alone in seeing their religious freedom stripped away. If this law passes, it will be difficult, if not impossible, for ministers to share the Bible’s teachings on sexual morality. Property owners who do not want, for moral reasons, to rent property to homosexuals will be breaking the law. So will Christian printers who refuse to print pro-gay literature.

Last Thursday, a House of Commons committee met to decide on the Sexual Orientation Regulations. Many MPs protested the Blair government’s refusal to allow a full debate in the House of Commons. And despite repeated appeals for a postponement, the chairperson insisted on taking an immediate vote: The regulations were upheld.

Now, the Blair government is attempting to rush the law through both houses of Parliament before opponents have time to organize. The vote will take place on Wednesday.

On that day, many Christians will be found at a prayer vigil in Old Palace Yard near the entrance to the House of Lords. We need to be praying with them, because it is going to take a miracle to keep this law from passing.
We must also realize that we are going to face this same kind of persecution if same-sex “marriage” is legalized in America. It’s already begun, especially in Massachusetts, where same-sex “marriage” was imposed by judges. For instance, a federal judge recently decreed that Christian parents cannot opt their kindergarteners out of public school classes that normalize homosexuality. And last year Catholic Charities shut down its adoption agencies rather than agree to send innocent children into homosexual homes.

This is why we desperately need to be vigilant—especially our religious liberty groups. This is why, for example, we need to pass a federal marriage amendment. If we do nothing, we are going to be facing the same future that Christians in the UK are facing: a future in which preaching the truths of the Gospel is against the law.

You’re Fired

I am a bit sketchy as to why the Bush Administration fired the U.S. Attorneys. I was listening to Feinstein on Fox News saying her Committee was going to initiate a witch hunt (well she didn’t exactly say that) to find the President’s motive.

Frankly my observation over the past couple of years are that U.S. Attorney Generals have been perpetuating a Left Wing agenda and ignoring what President Bush has stood for as a Conservative. Bush should just come out and tell the Democrats why these U.S. Attorneys were fired. I could care less if the reason is found offensive to Democrats; the tenure of a U.S. Attorney is at the whim of the President. It is not a Civil Service job.

On the other hand if these U.S. Attorneys were fired to prevent legitimate investigations into crime (e.g. the Ramos/Compean cover-up), then I may have an agreement with the Democrats.

Waziristan is a region in Pakistan. The Pakistani government of Pervez Musharraf signed an Accord not to long ago with Islamofascist warlords of the area. In essence Musharraf gave governing autonomy to the Terrorist elements of the Taliban and al Qaeda residing in Waziristan while Pakistan maintains a dubious official sovereignty.

Now that you are caught up, check this out. The Islamofascists in Waziristan are fighting an internecine war among themselves over local issues of who is in charge of what. The solidarity of radical Mohammedanism takes a back seat to the bread and butter of what makes the locals happy.

Now isn’t that a piece of hypocrisy the Mainstream Media rarely publishes. Radical Mohammedanism’s greatest complaint against the West is the potential influence of immoral culture (actually they have a point there); thus Islamofascists berate Democracy as a mode to perpetuate immorality (a point they DO NOT have).

Yet when it comes down to controlling food, probable illegal drugs for profit and the needs and support of various locals; then typical Machiavellian politics reigns supreme in perpetuating means to justify murderous ends amongst themselves.

It is much like what the Soviets and Red Chinese did at the beginning of their revolutionary regimes. They propagandize the population under their influence to worship a cultic status. In communism it was Karl Marx, Lennon, Mao and the State. In Mohammedanism it is the medieval acts of Mohammed and his blood lust for a cohesive empire. The empire initiated by Mohammed exercised a combination of brutality and propaganda to transform the conquered into passionate believers of the old Arab moon deity Allah.

With money from Wahhabi Saudi Arabia and Shi’ite Iran, migrating Mohammedans to America and Europe are exploiting laws of freedom and liberty reverse assimilating the cultures they have moved to. WAKE UP!

The EU’s Solana has pretty much given the go ahead to Syria to seek the return of the Golan Heights which they lost in a failed invasion of Israel. The Golan Heights have been a huge strategical buffer utilized by Israel to keep the crazy Assad dynasty at bay.

Carolyn Glick has written an essay showing the last time a Western power showed disinterest toward inter-Arab relations, Kuwait was invaded by Saddam Hussein. Glick senses that Solana’s statement is encouragement for Syria to do the same thing with Israel.

Does it seem far fetched? Hardly! With the mutual back slapping between Iran and Syria as well as the public displays mutual defense memos and such, Syria indeed seems to be just waiting for the best timing to take on Israel.

The crisis in Israel’s corner is the incompetent leadership provided by the Olmert team. The Prime Ministry of Olmert is the most confused and weak leadership Israel has had – EVER.

The desert wolf is circling the prey to take yet one more shot at obliterating Jews in their homeland.

I don’t know if American authorities are trying to keep Americans calm or if they are in complete denial about the radical Islamist problem in America. The Wahhabis of the Sunni and the radical Shi’ites publicly evoke anti-American rhetoric. In private there is substantial evidential inference that radical Islamists associate with their foreign counterparts or are actually planning acts of brutality themselves.

Conservatives and RINOS in 2008

J. B. Williams has written an article that is worthy of examination by Conservatives. The essence of Williams’ theme is most Conservatives are Republicans but not all Republicans are Conservative. If the Conservative base of the Republican Party chooses a Presidential candidate in the belief of electability, then the Conservatives have diluted their ideology to defeat Leftist Democrats.

Williams posits if a Left oriented Republican is elected, what is the difference from electing a Leftist Democratic President? A Left thinking Republican would appoint liberal judges to the Judiciary, accommodate the homosexual agenda, look the other way when Christophobe secular humanist delete more and more Christianity from the American community and on and on.

The reason Williams’ essay caught my eye is that I was leaning toward looking at a Republican that could beat a Democrat at all costs. I was leaning to the thinking a RINO was better than Leftist Democratic Party hegemony.

Now I am leaning to the thought that a non-Conservative Republican President is a Democrat in sheep’s clothing.

Here we are with the Mainstream Media joining the immoral homosexual lobby (or as Ann Coulter would say – faggots) to force an American General out of his military position for expressing his free speech rights.

Liberal media pushing for Gen. Pace’s forced resignation

The Washington Post claims in an editorial that there is an "uproar" over General Peter Pace expressing his view that homosexuality is immoral. (web site) This is another manufactured "scandal" designed to put a top official, in this case the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, in a bad light. This "uproar," such as it is, has come from papers like the Post and homosexual rights activists. It is an effort at intimidation, pure and simple, and thought control.

At this point in the media-generated controversy, Pace has not apologized but has been forced to say he should not have emphasized his own personal views on the subject. Some stories are saying Pace has expressed "regret" or "mild regret."

Whatever the outcome, and it is still possible that Pace could be forced to resign over this, the message has been sent: do not offend the powerful homosexual lobby, including the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA), which on Thursday, March 15, will be sponsoring a New York benefit hosted by ABC News reporter Brian Ross. The "special guests" will include Natalie Morales and Meredith Vieira of NBC News, Martha MacCallum of Fox News, Soledad O'Brien of CNN, and Robert Lipsyte of the New York Times. Corporate sponsors include ABC News, CNN, and NBC Universal.

As the NLGJA website puts it, the event is a "special evening for a great cause," bringing together "a glittering collection of some of the brightest names in media, journalism and entertainment."

Is it any surprise that the media have made the Pace comments on homosexuality into a national controversy, even scandal? The national media and the homosexual rights movement seem to be one and the same. But that's a story that news consumers aren't being told.

Leading the charge, the Post found Pace guilty of making "public expressions of intolerance." The subheadline of the editorial was, "Gen. Peter Pace denounces gays and lesbians who are busy defending their country." But he said nothing of the kind, and the paper knows it. The deceitful editorial is another attempt to intimidate people into not expressing opinions that contradict the politically correct views of the radical left. The Post, which runs announcements of homosexual "weddings," will not be content until homosexuality is celebrated in the military and the schools as just another alternative lifestyle. (web site) Pedophilia, of course, can be defined by its apologists in that manner.

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth points out that the Pace view is consistent with the writings of the Apostle Paul, who denounced homosexuality as an unrighteous behavior that would keep someone out of heaven. (web site) So if the Post finds what Pace said objectionable, it is also taking issue with the traditional Christian view of homosexuality. Of course, it's easier for the Post to write an editorial denouncing Pace than attacking a disciple of Jesus Christ who doesn't serve in the Bush Administration.

This controversy says more about the Post than it does about Pace. It shows that a major American newspaper has become a virtual house organ of the gay rights movement. And it shows that this paper will not hesitate to use its power and influence to try to intimidate those with different views. It is the Post, in fact, which is being intolerant.

I was among those who strongly criticized Ann Coulter for using "faggot," a disparaging term about homosexuals. What Pace did, by contrast, was simply express his personal view, in an interview with the Chicago Tribune, that homosexual conduct is immoral. (web site) The Post editorial said in passing that Pace was "entitled to his opinions, of course," but went on to complain about the impact of his words. What the paper is really saying is that he is entitled to his opinions but he should keep them to himself. Frankly, the paper wants him to shut up.

We are living in strange times when smoking is considered a serious danger to one's health, and something which cannot be tolerated in most areas of public life, but a lifestyle linked to a raging epidemic of disease and death is regarded as a civil right that must not be criticized and even deserves to be celebrated.

The Post, in its editorial, carefully avoided the issue of what exactly male homosexuals do. Howard Phillips of the Conservative Caucus calls them "anal-sex practitioners." That may sound shocking to some, but it is a fact nonetheless. The Post omitted this information in order to make the case that open and out-of-the-closet homosexuals should serve in the U.S. military. We don't want to think about such things but we must as long as we have a media establishment, led by the Post, which wants public approval for engaging in such practices in the U.S. military and other areas of society.

When the Post devotes some of its precious and limited editorial space to denouncing Pace for his personal view of homosexuality, this is a big deal. You can be sure the paper isn't doing this just to be fashionable. It seems obvious that one or more editorial writers on the paper are card-carrying members of the homosexual rights movement or sympathizers. In this connection, it is interesting to note that the paper has made financial contributions to the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association. (web site)

Also consider the fact that the Post ran a February 24 editorial about the "Death of a Gay Rights Pioneer" by the name of Barbara Gittings. (web site) I have been writing about the homosexual rights movement for over 20 years and I had never heard of her before. It turns out, according to the Post, that she is the "Founding Mother" of the homosexual rights movement, a lesbian who led the fight to bring more homosexual propaganda into the public libraries. As long as we are on the subject, Post readers are also entitled to know that the founding father of the gay rights movement was Harry Hay, a communist who supported pedophilia as just another "sexual orientation." (web site) But don't look for any investigations by Post Watergate reporter Bob Woodward into the sordid history of the homosexual rights movement.

The Post is one strange paper. On some matters, such as its treatment of the Joe Wilson/Scooter Libby affair, the Post can break through the liberal mold and offer straightforward and well-researched editorials. But on the issue of homosexual rights, the paper is strident to the point of sounding like the Washington (Gay) Blade, the local homosexual paper.

The Post has not yet called for Pace's resignation. But that could come if this media-generated "uproar" continues. Those who believe in freedom of speech, traditional values, and fair and responsible journalism should stand solidly behind Pace.

Somebody is a Liar in Plamegate

Valerie Plame’s testimony contradicts CIA and government assertions that Plame indeed sent husband Joe Wilson to Niger. Plame denies the assertion vehemently.

So what does that mean? Both Plame and Wilson are liars or the CIA, State Department and White House are liars.

More resources corroborate the CIA, State Department and White House than Plame and Wilson. That would mean Plame has the gall to lie on record at a House hearing.

In the post "Is There a Bush Agenda Obscured from both Democrats and Republicans," I have expressed my growing disillusionment of President Bush. The early Bush Agenda was awesome, however in the latter part of the Bush Administration he appears to be collapsing to the pressure of the Democrats. Most importantly there seems to be an emerging nefarious agenda that even Conservative Republicans would be appalled if it pans out to be true.

This is talk of some kind of North American Union, i.e. a union of Canada, America and Mexico as one confederated nation. This end the Founding Fathers dream of a Constitutional America, a new Constitution would have to come into existence to merge the cultures of Canada, America and Mexico.

Again if true, it would be a huge betrayal of America’s Conservative Movement. If such an agenda is proven, it would doom America to supporting the Leftist Democratic Party. If the Democrats gain power it would be the end of America as the Founding Father’s envisioned it. If this North American Union thing is true and wins out, it too would end the foundation of the Founding Father’s vision of America.

Bush and Other Big Government Republicans Hijacked the Conservative Cause, released the following statement:

“There is very little in this poll that would lead the Bush Administration and Republicans in Congress to think they are on the right track. It showed that just 34 percent of all respondents had a favorable view of the Republican Party and, by a 20-point margin, voters would favor a Democrat over a Republican for president.

“If the present situation continues and America is still fighting in Iraq next year, Republicans will be swept out of office all the way from the courthouse to the White House.

“As a result, Republican primary votes are looking for--but have not found--an effective conservative leader. Over the last 10 years, no Republican has stepped forward as a conservative leader. While all of the GOP presidential candidates but Rudy Guiliani claim to be a conservative, none of them have consistently spoken out against the liberal excesses of President Bush and the former Republican-controlled Congress, with the exception of Ron Paul.

“It appears most of the GOP presidential candidates believed that, to get along, they had to go along with the Republican Establishment. While some of the candidates are better than others, none of them have interested, much less excited, even a significant minority of conservatives. It’s possible one of the existing candidates will catch fire with conservatives but not likely.

“President Bush’s legacy may be to preside over the GOP’s demise. In the 1993 elections in Canada, the ruling Progressive Conservative Party suffered a disastrous defeat and was left with a grand total of only two seats in the House of Commons. The party never again won more than 20 seats, out of 308, and officially dissolved in 2003. However, it was replaced by the new Conservative Party of Canada, which is led by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
