Making The Crusader Image

I have been reading Oriana Fallaci's book The Force of Reason. In this book Fallaci dispells the myth that the Crusades were merely a looting and pillaging of Mohammedan lands in the name of Christ.

Yes, the Crusaders did some aweful things; including to their fellow Christians who were not Catholic.

However, Fallaci points out that Mohammedans brutally attacked Christian lands way before the Crusades often brutally murdering whole populations until the rest converted. And we are not just talking Middle Eastern Christians.

Mohammedans from the time of the first Caliph after Mohammed through the Ottoman Turks raided, murdered, raped, kidnapped and more to Christians in Europe until Jan Sobieski put the Ottomans in their place in the 1600's at Vienna.

Western liberals have bought into the myth were solely culpable for the destruction accredited to them. The reality is that the Crusaders were more the result of a response to Mohammedan brutality.

The Crusaders were HEROES.
