The End of North Korea

Dale Hurd of The Spectacle CBN News Blog has a hypothesis that North Korea may end as a regime.
Of course there is cause for concern, but what we should be talking out is the end of North Korea, because although we may not have seen a real nuclear test (I’m still skeptical), we surely saw a death rattle. Yes, we’ve been talking about the end of North Korea for more than a decade. But to allegedly detonate a nuke and then threaten the United States with it, all but inviting a pre-emptive strike that would instantly and permanently end your regime and your lives? That’s desperate.

North Korea’s been playing this game of brinkmanship for a long time and managed to sucker the Clinton administration for hundreds of millions of dollars. But it’s clearly gasping for air after almost six years of failing to similarly blackmail the Bush administration for food and money. (
Hurd)

Hurd is implying North Korea is in a death throw similar to what the old Soviet Union experienced. There is a difference in North Korea’s case, that nation has a Head of State that is a self-deluded psychopath.

Hurd believes the collapse of North Korea may not be imminent, however he also believes economic sanctions is the way to go. His position is that sanctions will cause starving North Koreans to flee to both China to the north and South Korea to the south.

This brings a little clarity to why Communist China and Capitalist South Korea may actually be on the same page pertaining to a collapse of North Korea. I suspect a problem that will be greater than refugees will develop. I do not think the megalomaniac Kim Jong Il will just sit in a magnificent office (provided by the backs of the so-called proletariat). I believe he will have a psychotic break down.

Kim Jong Il will either set out genocidal style to mow down his starving citizens, launch nuclear tipped missiles toward his perceived adversaries, or worse – BOTH.

The best thing that could happen in North Korea is for Kim’s generals to remove him from power. Is that possible?
