Is there Moderation in Palestine?

Secretary of State Rice has been traveling in the Middle East meeting with moderate Arab leaders relating to the Palestinian problem. In the process of doing this Rice has publicly acknowledged full support of so-called moderate Mahmoud Abbas President of the Palestine Authority (PA) and Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).

It boggles my mind that
Abbas has been tagged as a moderate! The PLO is a terrorist organization created by Yasser Arafat. The foundation for the PLO is Fatah, the original Palestinian terrorists. An off shoot of Fatah is the al-Aksa Martyrs Brigades, which is a militant faction of Fatah that carries homicides of Jews via suicide bombers.

I am wondering if the Bush Administration and Secretary Rice have lapsed into wishful thinking concerning the existence of a Palestinian State. If or when a nation called Palestine comes to sovereign existence will not bring peace to the Middle East. It will be a nation of terrorist organizations with the sole purpose of Iran’s ultimate dream: wiping Israel off the map.

Rice is even trying to aid in forming a unity government between Hamas and Fatah. Does a Hamas/Fatah union mean peace for Israel? No rational human being that is secular or religious can ever realistically imagine such a thing. Such a unity will only be a union of resources via a truce of contrary ideas with end game being to obliterate Israel.
