Bye Bye United Nations

China and Russia specify a watered down U.N. Security Resolution concerning North Korea or imply a veto.

Any member of the FIVE permanent members of the Security Council can veto a Security Council Resolution rendering it null and void. The FIVE members roughly represent the victors of World War II.

Nial Ferguson believes this could be the
beginning of the death knell of the United Nations if the World Body fails to prevent a Nuke WMD North Korea.

Initially Russia and China supported the harsher language of America. Then Thursday came along and North Korea’s main suppliers required NO military action as part of the sanctions. I guess America felt something is better than nothing for the U.N. Resolution (watered down) passed unanimously.

China has said they would not abide to the entirety of the Resolution enforcement. China will not search imports to North Korea in ensure that Sanctioned are not sent. So not only is the Resolution watered down, a voting nation of the Security Council will not support that which it voted for.

The United Nations is becoming less and less viable in expediting it Charter. Look to world divisions of alliances to begin to crop up to protect mutual National Interests against antagonizing mutual National Interests.

Bye bye United Nations.
