The Central Government of Iraq now commands it’s military. This is not only a huge step for Iraq but for America. Nation building is happening regardless of slanted Left critics in America. It is not perfect due to the nature of Mohammedanism; however a self-determining Iraq is emerging.
It will be up to the Iraqis themselves if a unified Iraq is maintained or if tribal jealousies and religious differences (Sunnis and Shi'ites) fracture the nation. It will be to the benefit of the region and the world if Iraq remains unified under some kind federation in which consensus can develop to the benefit of Iraqi citizens as a whole rather than the special interests of confrontational groups.
