Billionaire bin Mahfouz Snuffs Investigative Reporting

Saudi Billionaire Sheikh Khalid Bin Mahfouz is using British Courts to snuff out international journalism about alleged or potential support he is offering Wahhabi terrorists like Usama Bin Laden. In America the innocent until proven guilty paradigm is used in civil court as well as criminal court. In other words the Plaintiff his to prove the Defendant is wrong in civil court.

This is not so in Britain. In civil actions the Defendant must prove he is right and the Plaintiff is wrong; thus the burden of proof is on the Defendant – guilty until proven innocent.

Old Bin Mahfouz has been successful with this ploy at least twice. In one case it was used against an American author that did not even publish in Britain; ergo British laws should not have applied. The American author did not want to spend tons of money vying with a billionaire who has tons of money, so the author did not even show up for the British civil action. However since the burden of proof is on the Defendant a judgment was levied against the American author.

WHAT! That is correct, an American citizen that did not break any British laws was assumed guilty by by the mere fact of Bin Mahfouz filing a civil suit in Britain.

HELLO! Islamofascism at work in a Western Democracy.
