Obama Loses Senate Vote on Gitmo!

It is reported that fifty Gitmo Islamic terrorists are to be released soon; however thanks to a Democratic Party controlled Congress and the complaining of constituents no Islamic terrorists will be released in America. Anyway as of this post no terrorists will be housed in America.

The Leftist Democrats have flipped about their bleeding heart agenda to close Gitmo if it means Islamic terrorists will be housed in America.

Here is a Move America Forward appeal for money to keep battling President Barack Hussein Obama’s intention of setting Islamic terrorists free from Gitmo. Perhaps MAF is taking a bit too much credit; nonetheless they are in the forefront on countering the slanted Left Mainstream Media BHO propaganda machine to shut Gitmo down.

“In a major rebuke to President Barack Obama, the Senate voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to block the transfer of Guantanamo detainees to the United States and denied the administration the millions it sought to close the prison.

The 90-6 Senate vote—paired with similar House action last week—was a clear sign to Obama that he faces a tough fight getting the Democratic-controlled Congress to agree with his plans to shut down the detention center and move the 240 detainees.”

Move America Forward is pleased to report that our relentless efforts to warn Congress and the American people about the dangers posed by closing Gitmo and bringing terrorists to America are PAYING OFF.

Earlier this month the House of Representatives stripped $80 Million from an Iraq/Afghanistan funding bill that Obama had requested for shutting down Guantanamo Bay.

House Democrats said ‘no’ to Obama and took the money out because even they realized President Obama has no plan for what to do with the terrorists if he shuts down Guantanamo Bay.

And now, today, the Senate just voted overwhelmingly to keep Guantanamo Bay open …FOR THE TIME BEING.

We have won an important battle, but the fight to keep terrorists OFF American soil continues!

Republican National Security Rock-Stars hold Press Conference in Response

After today’s vote, Republicans immediately held a press conference to declare a strategic victory because—until further notice – the terrorists will continue to be held safely off American shores at Guantanamo Bay’s state-of-the-art facility.

Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma, who has worked with MAF many times before specifically on the Gitmo issue, led the press conference. Sen. Inhofe is a hero for American security interests as he is one of the most outspoken and courageous members of Congress when it comes to Guantanamo Bay. We applaud him for all his work and thank him for his support of Move America Forward.

“Though I am very pleased that Democrats in the Senate reversed course and voted today against including the $80 million in the war supplemental to close Gitmo, it is very likely that this funding could be included in future appropriations bills,” Senator Inhofe said. “I am encouraging all of my colleagues to sign onto my legislation to prevent any future funding for detainee transfers to the U.S.

Today’s press conference included several other Senators. All are vehement supporters of our troops and resolute in their commitment to keeping the terrorists sealed away at Gitmo. Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina, who helped MAF coordinate our public backlash against the Berkeley City Council after they insulted our troops and the Marines stationed at the Berkeley recruiting center, was also part of the press conference.

MAF is truly grateful to have the support of such esteemed leaders as Senator Inhofe, Senator Jim DeMint and House Minority Leader John Boehner. Because of our combined efforts, Gitmo will remain open, for at least a little longer, and terrorists will not be welcome on American soil.

We look forward to continuing our work and holding more public events to spread the truth about Guantanamo Bay – it’s the safest place to house the terrorists. Thanks to your support we are making some Democrats think twice about endorsing Obama’s far left agenda. Right now we have to keep the pressure on and continue the fight until we can pass a law that ABSOLUTELY BARS any possibility that terrorist detainees will ever be brought on American soil either for detainment or release!
