I do not even understand why Prime Minister Ehud Olmert clings to power in Israel. His incompetence is manifold. He has just about alienated the entire Israeli electorate (I read Olmert has a 2% approval rating) and screwed up the management of the Israeli government since he took the reins from Ariel Sharon (a victim of an incapacitating stroke).
Yet this huge screw-up is under investigation for bad decisions in Lebanon (Winograd Findings) and under investigation for criminal allegations is a brilliant politician. Like the Democratic Party’s old Slick Willie, Prime Minister Olmert seems to be reinforcing the acquisition of Teflon – nothing is currently sticking.
How does a Head of Government in a Parliamentary Government remain in power? Where is the NO CONFIDENCE vote? With a 2% approval rating you would think Olmert’s Kadima Party would reject him.
Columnist Caroline Glick believes this is one brilliant politician that might bring Israel crumbling down.
