Conservative Sarkozy beats Socialist Royal in France

A son of Hungarian immigrants has been voted President of France. With just a little over 53% winning margin Conservative Nicolas Sarkozy has defeated Socialist Segolene Royal.

It always takes time to see how things play out geopolitically; however first impressions for the Bush Administration is a new friend has joined Conservative thinkers. The thing is Americans have seen the French as opportunistic cowards and the French have seen Americans as hegemonic bullies for so long, it my be tough for Bush and Sarkozy to buddy up. Sarkozy may be forced to see who win the American Presidential election in 2008 to determine his view of French diplomacy toward America.
