Israel won't attend racism conference

Europe continues its spiral toward anti-semitism! The EU has sponsored a conference to take place in Vienna - "Racism, Xenophobia and the Media: Towards respect and understanding of all religions and cultures." Initially Israel was informed that Islamophobia and anti-Semitism would be on the agenda.

The boycott was decided after the agenda was revamped to specifically address Islamophobia. At the same time anti-Semitism was removed from a specific agenda to merely a general discussion.

This smacks of the European love affair with the Palestinian-Arab delusion while simultaneously denigrating the reasons that a Jewish State should exist.

An ICEJ e-newsletter reports the brief specifics:

Israel won't attend racism conference
Israel will boycott a European Union-sponsored conference on "Racism, Xenophobia and the Media" being held Monday in Vienna because the issue of anti-Semitism is no longer on the agenda, The Jerusalem Post has learned. Israeli diplomatic officials in Jerusalem told The Post that when the Vienna-based conference was first organized last year it had planned to address racism in the media, including Islamophobia and anti-Semitism, and while Islamophobia remained a prominent topic on updated programs received this month, they made no mention of discussions on anti-Semitism. The officials said that the decision to eliminate the discussion of anti-Semitism was taken following pressure from Arab countries and while Israel is interested in taking part in a discussion on Islamophobia in the press, "It cannot take part in a seminar where anti-Semitism, which still exists in European and Arab countries, is totally ignored."

Iran threatens to wipe Israel off the map and Hamas complies with their charter to do the same; yet the EU is concerned about Islamophobia. What is that?
