Olmert: Russia Will Not Support Terrorist-Hamas

I know this is a headline, but I hope it is not the truth. Russia under Putin has emerged as duplicious State. They say one thing in public and give money, aid weapons to Islamofascist regimes. I seriously doubt Hamas will be any different. Here is the ICEJ report on Olmert.

Olmert: Russia Will Not Support Terrorist-Hamas
Livni warns Quartet against terrorist funding

Speaking at an election rally on Wednesday, Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had committed to stand against a Hamas government that does not recognize Israel and denounce terror. In spite of Russia's recent overtures to the terrorist group, Olmert spoke of Putin's determination to combat terrorism while pursuing diplomatic agendas.

"Russia gave me a clear, unequivocal message," he said.

Meanwhile in Europe, Israeli Foreign Ministery Tzipi Livni warned European leaders against providing funds to a Hamas-led government, stressing that terrorist groups cannot gain legitimacy simply because they won an election. She also praised the Quartet, (US, EU, Russia, UN), for setting preconditions on Hamas before they could gain international recognition. Livni reiterated that it was not Israel's desire to "punish" the Palestinian people for the Hamas election victory, but it was crucial that aid money not end up in the wrong hands.

"If you give money to a terrorist organization it will go in wrong directions… no one wants to give money to a terrorist organization," she said.

Livni also paid a special private condolence visit to the family of Ilan Halimi, the young French Jew recently murdered by a Muslim extortion gang in France.
