The fear of an impending U.S. military strike and possible invasion was the cause for the British Marine/Sailors to be released NOT the magnanimity of President Ahmadinejad. Newsmax sources paint a picture of Iranian ruling elites squabbling over potential unpleasant scenarios. The elites that won were the “release the Brits” faction. Ahmadinejad merely spun a typical propaganda scheme for PR to his people in Iran.
