The Beginning of Dhimmitude in American Public Schools

I have just learned from a Daniel Pipes column that Brooklyn is opening an Arabic language intensive Public School with the grades ranging from Sixth to the Twelfth.

Pipes began his column by looking at all the positive aspects of an Arab language public institution. The top of the positive list is hardly anyone in America (other than native Arab speakers) speaks or writes Arabic. A truly public secular education could go to great strides for Arabic language people that wish to live in America to assimilate to the American way of life. Then Pipes does list a few other positives.

I will let you read Pipes’ column for the significant negatives of an Arabic Language Public School.

Here is my chief concern: an Arabic speaking Public School (i.e. government tax supported) also providing for Mohammedans to worship. Mohammedans pray five times daily toward Mecca. I do not have a problem with that this is a free nation.

The problem I have is that Christian prayer is prohibited in American Public Schools while this Arabic Public School no doubt will prevail upon the School District to allow Mohammedan rituals such as prayer and ceremonial foot washing and so on. In American schools in which Christianity is still the pre-dominate faith (though currently largely undermined by Secular Humanism) prayer, Bible clubs, Christmas celebrations and Easter plays or anything that might connote Christian faith is attacked and prohibited.

If Mohammedanism is allowed to be ritually practiced then those
that wish to practice Christianity in American Public Schools should be allowed to do so.

One huge negative Daniel Pipes has about the Madrassas Public School is that instead of promoting American assimilation, the school would rather teach the symbols of hate that Islamist propagandists already exercise in private schools and mosques. These Islamist programs are largely funded by
Wahhabi Sunnis from Saudi Arabia or Shi’ites from radical Iran via Hezbollah.

One last point I want readers to dwell on pertaining to Daniel Pipes’ column. The Principal Designate although well qualified academically is a Pan-Arab nationalist that criticizes the War on Terror and is sympathetic to radical Islamist teachings. Dhabah ("Debbie") Almontaser actually has the credentials to teach both Left Wing and Islamist ideology (even if they are diametrically opposed ideologies).

YOU REALLY MUST READ DANIEL PIPES’ COLUMN TO REVIEW THE CITATION LINKS HE UTILIZES!
