I personally did not watch the last South Carolina Republican debate; however by accounts that I have read Fred won it hands down. Will the passion of the debate pull off a surprise in South Carolina for Thompson? So far it is looking not to be the case with McCain and Huckabee duking it out for first place.
On the other hand a ray of hope for Thompson is that a combination of bad weather and polling machine malfunctions may hinder late tally results which could edge toward Thompson. We will have to wait for later news on if this proves to be Thompson voters who may get a late counting.
