Switzerland is on the Verge of Prohibiting Muslim Practices

I recently joined the Middle East Forum mailing list; which is awesome because the list sent me an article that was originally in the American Thinker. The List date is today November 11; however the MEF date appears to be November 8. So I guess I am little behind in what many of you may already know.

The leading political party in Switzerland is pushing referendums
to prevent the symbolism of Mohammedan culture to be displayed in public.

Get this! The Swiss People’s Party (SVP) has acquired 62 of the possible 200 seats in Switzerland’s Swiss National Council. The SVP has a platform for the voters to make a decision concerning culture: Swiss values as culturally evolved from Western Culture or the Leftist egalitarian multiculturalism of Western Europe.

The Swiss values campaign is aimed DIRECTLY at Mohammedans who wish to have the symbolism of their religion viewed in the open as any other religion (e.g. minarets to call for Mohammedan prayer, female genital excision, crimes of honor, polygamy and the chattel treatment of women to name a few).

Apparently traditionally neutral Switzerland is on the verge of publicly labeling Mohammedanism a religion that cannot separate itself from politics thus Mohammedanism runs counter to Swiss (and I might point Western) values.
