Gingrich: The Left is on the Run

Here is Newt Gingrich’s “Winning the Future” (HumanEvents.com version) from yesterday August 5th.

Newt socks it to the Left. He believes the Left is on the run. The essay provides the reasons why Newt believes the Left is on the run.

The Minutemen and the Illegal Immigration Lobby

I have to be honest concerning “The Minutemen” and the anti-immigration message. I support the core reasoning of The Minutemen however not to levels of extremism that aims pretty close to Latinophobia.

It is wrong for Mexicans (primarily) to simply enter our country and gain privileges that some American citizens do not even receive. It is wrong to accommodate illegal aliens by requiring Spanish to be on official government documents up to and including voting. The vote is not something an illegal should be privileged with. The vote should not be something a legal alien should be privileged with. AND Naturalized American citizens (former aliens) should become citizens until at least they can speak English let alone provide dual Spanish/English documents.

I favor English should be the National Language of America. Every other immigrant to America in America’s history to a large degree has assimilated to the American way of life. The Italians, Nordic language groups, Germans and Europeans by the time of their second and third generations spoke English and considered themselves more American than their parents or grandparents.

Now that I have brandished the negative aspects that drive me nuts about illegal immigration, allow me to say few words about Mexicans and many other Latinos in America.

I was not raised in a middle class or wealthy family; however I was not so poor that I had a victimhood attitude about my life nor did my family. Everyone worked in our family to pay the bills. My core family growing up consisted of my single Mom, me, Grandmother, Grandfather and occasionally my Uncle (off and on). I began working at age 12 delivering Newspapers and by age 16, full time in the Restaurant industry which I continued in for a quarter of a century.

Anyway as long as anyone lived at Grandma’s house, a percentage of one’s earnings or a particular responsibility (e.g. an electric bill or cable bill) was all shared to living really quite comfortable not being aware that opportunity could lead to even more comfort.

Working in the Restaurant Industry I had the opportunity to work with a number of Mexicans. There were a few bad apples however the majority of Mexicans worked hard and were honest and respectful. In most cases I was humbled by the honesty and respect Mexicans had shown me when I knew full well a majority of Americans would not reciprocate in the same manner.

Most of the illegal alien Mexicans had no intention to remain in America on a long term basis and so they did not feel the compulsion to learn English any more than was necessary. The Mexicans I worked with worked for a stake for some dream back in Mexico OR to alleviate a situation of extreme poverty for family members back in Mexico.

I am not so certain America should boot this kind of Mexican out. They are the epitome of what Americans were like up through the ‘50’s: hard working responsible families.

I am also aware there are Mexicans and Latin Americans further south of Mexico that are pure thugs, lawless, gangbangers or all of the above. This is the kind of Mexican that should be deported. This kind of Mexican/Latino should be deported or jailed (depending if they have become American citizens by naturalization or birth) even if they citizenship or legal residence status. America in this age of terrorism needs to come down hard on the lawless foreigners that reside in our nation and NOT coddled as a person of special circumstance. THAT IS NUTS!

And so having posted my concerns and my reasons for limited mercy I would like to share an email that made it to my junk mail instead of to my inbox. It is from The Minutemen and it justly rails on the duplicity that is extended to Latinos and yet when The Minutemen do acts of Charity with The Minutemen name accredited, the pro-illegal alien lobby goes nuts. I am totally with The Minutemen with this one:

The Minutemen San Diego Email

I wrote to you the other day to inform you about the battle between the San Diego Minutemen and radical left-wing activists from the pro-amnesty crowd. Advocates of amnesty-for-illegal-aliens are waging a pressure campaign to censor the Minutemen's "Adopt-A-Highway" sign near a border checkpoint in California.

They've so far succeeded in their censorship campaign, and the Minutemen's sign has been taken down. But now the San Diego Minutemen are fighting back in court - they won't let the amnesty-for-illegal-aliens crowd try to silence those who believe in securing America's borders.

You can support the Minutemen's legal defense fund -
HERE.

It's offensive when you think about the fact that this is the only kind of message that the pro-amnesty crowd believes should be allowed:

[jpeg in email of local LA Hispanic newscast]

But the pro-amnesty crowd won't tolerate this sign that simply showcased the Minutemen's charitable efforts:

[jpeg in email of The Minutemen Adopt a Highway sign]

The ensuing legal fight between the Minutemen and the illegal alien lobby has become a high-profile national issue with members of the legislature's Latino Caucus, Gil Cedillo and Lori Salda¤a, telling the New York Times that, "the Minutemen should be barred" from having an Adopt-A-Highway sign. (You can read the New York Times story -
HERE).

The Gil Cedillo who was bad-mouthing the Minutemen, is the same Gil Cedillo who last year led rallies for amnesty and taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal aliens.

And Lori Saldana went on to tell reporters that she wanted to pre-screen groups to prevent organizations like the Minutemen from having the same rights as leftist pro-amnesty organizations that she supports. "We want them (the state) to say what constitutes a legitimate group... Do we want these people (the Minutemen) allowed on a highway near a security checkpoint?" asked Ms. Saldana.

Yes, we do want the Minutemen to be free to have their voices heard in this country, Ms. Saldana, but obviously people like you want the Minutemen silenced and censored.

PLEASE -- If you support our efforts to fight back against the pro-amnesty lobby and fight for the rights of the Minutemen, then please
make a donation right now to our legal defense fund.

We've incurred $30,000 in legal fees already. Fortunately, hundreds of supporters have pitched in to bring this total down to approximately $25,000. Please help us raise this remaining $25,000.

Make a donation of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or $1,000 or more -

There are no contribution limits, so please give generously. Your financial contributions will help to ensure that the Minutemen can have the same right to free speech that the pro-amnesty lobby has been exercising in their ongoing rallies and demonstrations. If we don't win here, you can bet the pro-illegal immigrant lobby will push even harder.

Thank you so much for your support. I will continue to keep you updated on our fight for the rights of the San Diego Minutemen.

P.S. You can follow our legal filings at our website -

Here is a Reason to Vote Fred in 08

Huckabee implies once an illegal alien makes it here to America, then America is required to educate the illegal alien brood. Sounds like an incentive to illegally immigrate to America.

VOTE FOR FRED IN 08!

Profile Hillary's Foreign Donors? You Betcha!

Evidently Hillary has been receiving donations from illegal aliens of the China-Town kind. She has sent back the high profile (i.e. big) donations if there a connection can be made to Asian barely speaking English political donors.

Apparently the media has been exposing the potential illegal donations to Hillary’s campaign. Hence Asian minority rights groups are beginning to clamor that to much attention has been focused by the media on minority Asian donors.

It is incredible! The racial card is being played to get scrutiny off of Hillary’s dubious campaign fund raising.

Border Security and Immigration Reform Plan

My man Fred has come up with a Border Security and Immigration Reform Plan.

The plan if it could be implemented, appears to concur totally to the standard Conservative’s vision of immigration and how to deal with illegal immigrants.

The only point I found ambiguous is Fred’s point on improving the legal immigration process. Fred seems to hint legalizing the illegal; however even here I like most of what I read.

Judge Munley Adjudicates That Cities Cannot Make Laws Pertaining to Illegals

Mayor Louis J. Barletta of Hazelton, PA became fed up with illegal immigrants in his city after two illegal aliens fatally shot an American citizen. He was so upset that this could happen from foreigners in America illegally that he encouraged his city of thirty thousand to pass an ordinance making it tough for illegal aliens to live in Hazelton, PA.

The city ordinance was billed as the “Illegal Immigration Relief Act.” Its design was to make it tough for Land Lords to rent to illegal immigrants thus making it tougher for illegal aliens to reside in Hazelton.

CHECK THIS OUT! On Thursday July 26 U.S. District Judge James Munley overturned Hazelton’s “Illegal Immigration Relief Act” on the grounds that a city could not enforce the rule of law that is the charge of State and Federal authorities.

What is that? The law is the law! Munley had to write 206 pages to establish his judicial ruling. And no surprise here: Democratic Party candidate for President Senator Obama praised the Munley ruling.

What is it about a Leftist Judiciary and Leftist Politicians that want to allow the flow of illegal immigrants to the harm of American citizens?

PETITION TO SUPPORT BORDER SECURITY AND NO-AMNESTY IMMIGRATION REFORM

Senator Jim Inhofe is the senior Senator from the State of Oklahoma. He is raising support against amnesty first then securing the border. This is indeed the best logical reasoning. This means of course the bill that President Bush and the Democratic Senate (led by Kennedy on this issue) must be vanquished as bad for American citizens.

This information was forwarded to me by a fellow Republican who received it from the
Tulsa County Republican Women’s Club.

Our club has been asked by Senator Jim Inhofe to send along an important and timely message. Senator Inhofe has just announced an online petition that asks the millions of Americans who feel strongly that we should enforce existing laws and not grant amnesty to illegal immigrants to sign and make their voice heard.

The website is

Thank you for taking a moment to review this information. We hope you will take a moment to let your voice be heard on this important topic.

INHOFE ANNOUNCES ONLINE PETITION FOR AMERICANS TO SUPPORT BORDER SECURITY AND NO-AMNESTY IMMIGRATION REFORM

(JUNE 15, 2007) - U.S. Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.) today announced 'Secure Borders Now' (
www.securebordersnow.com/), a new website for Americans to urge the Senate to consider immigration reform that focuses on enforcing existing border security laws and opposition to amnesty for millions of illegal immigrants.

'Unfortunately it appears many in the Senate remain deaf to the voices of the American people, as yet another backroom deal has emerged designed to revive the fatally flawed immigration bill and its immediate path to amnesty. The 'Secure Borders Now' petition gives Americans an opportunity to voice their opposition. I hope my constituents and citizens from all across our country will take action, sign the petition and show how many Americans are strongly opposed to this bill.'

'Despite the promise of increased funding for border security and additional votes on a handful of amendments, the proposed legislation will continue to shortcut the current naturalization process and grant amnesty to 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants currently in our country. That is a trade off that I simply cannot support.

'The first step in any significant immigration legislation must be securing our borders and enforcing existing laws. It is unconscionable to make border security conditional on the guarantee of amnesty. Even with the promise of additional funding for border security, the Senate bill focuses far too much on controversial and irresponsible programs such as the 'Z-visa' (which I voted to eliminate), and far too little on ensuring that our borders are no longer porous.

'I have stated from the outset of this immigration debate that I will vehemently oppose any legislation that guarantees amnesty for illegal immigrants, unfairly burdens taxpayers or fails to secure our borders. 'It is time that we deal with real immigration reform beginning with border security. This is the best way to restore trust with the American people and facilitate future improvement of our immigration policy.'

On Tuesday, Senator Inhofe joined eight Senators in writing a letter to President Bush urging him to fulfill the border security provisions listed in the Senate immigration bill whether the legislation passes or not. Each border security trigger in the bill can be implemented under current law without any need for new legislation from Congress.

A Rasmussen Reports national phone survey conducted June 11 and 12, found that only 20 percent of voters wanted Congress to try and pass the Senate bill that failed last week. Sixty-nine percent favored an approach that focused 'exclusively on securing the border and reducing illegal immigration.'

The President Attempts Reawakening of Senate Illegal Alien Bill

There seemed to be a round of agreement that the Senate legislation on immigration was dead last week. I have come to find out from Newt Gingrich that is not the case. Apparently President George W. Bush in an ever increasing bolt from those who elected him is going to utilize political strong arm tactics in an attempt to push the outrageous immigration bill through the Senate.

It is mobilize the Conservative Forces time and do what I thought would be unthinkable: Oppose the Presidential wishes toward the Senate!

Sutton, Cardone, Immigration Conspiracy Cabal

WorldNetDaily is following the prosecutions and sentencing of U.S. District Attorney Johnny Sutton and Judge Kathleen Cardone. This is the prosecution/judicial duo that nailed and convicted former Border Agents Ramos and Compean with dubious evidence and withheld evidence (by Cardone’s judicial order).

Now Sutton has prosecuted and Cardone has convicted another Border Agent on insane dubious circumstances! Noe Aleman has been convicted for harboring illegal aliens. The illegal aliens in question were nieces of his wife whom they were adopting as daughters. The law Aleman broke was brought to the attention of the authorities by Aleman himself: There was a typo in the two girls Visa Papers of allowing them American entrance for one day when it should have been for ninety days.

In order for the adoption not to be screwed up, Aleman alerted Immigration. Aleman was told to come to the office to correct the matter and was assured there was no problem. Upon arrival Aleman was arrested for harboring illegal aliens.

As WND points out, Aleman was prosecuted persecuted for trying to leap through the legal hoops and yet President Bush and proponents of the now defunct Senate immigration legislation were attempting to provide amnesty to “an estimated 20 million illegal aliens”.

This is a pattern of prosecutorial abuse, judicial abuse and moronic immigration legislation. All need to be addressed!

Ripping the Lid off a Secret Immigration Deal

The below essay was actually posted to Blind Conservatives by CD. It appears this has been forwarded a few times thus by the time I received it from Blind Conservatives the formatting was off.

I have performed a little guess work and spell check to make it readable for my posting. The author Rebecca Hagelin is the Vice President of Communications and Marketing at the Heritage Foundation. You can you read her bio and the publications she has written for
HERE.

I am sure many of you have probably become aware of the deceptiveness of the Immigration legislation compromised in the Senate and supported by President Bush. For me though it is just now coming to light; therefore I am posting this Hagelin essay that portrays the Heritage Foundation view of the illegal immigration Bill.

Subject: Secret Immigration Deal

Ripping the Lid off a Secret Immigration Deal
By Rebecca Hagelin
Friday, May 25, 2007

I've never been more proud to work at The Heritage Foundation than I was this past Monday.

I was seated at a conference table with 31 of the brightest, most analytical and highly principled people I've ever known as we dissected and analyzed various ripple effects of the Senate’s devastating immigration-reform proposal.

After spending an entire weekend digging through a document that had remained secret for so long, Heritage was further scrutinizing it -- and doing what many in the U.S. Senate refused to do: Reveal the truth.

Heritage received the “secret” text -- one that would fundamentally change the American landscape -- around two 0’clock in the morning on Saturday.

Within hours it was posted online at
heritage.org
fo.org/Research/Immigration/2007legislation.cfm.

The next day, Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., mentioned this on the Senate floor:

“For the sake of open deliberation and public education, The Heritage Foundation, which got a copy of the bill somehow, is making this legislation, in draft form, publicly available to encourage widespread debate and discussion.

Thank goodness they did make it public: It’s an opportunity, really, for the American people to know what’s involved.”

The document had been developed behind closed doors -- away from public scrutiny. It was crafted far from the eyes of ordinary Americans. Once Heritage experts read the drafts, it became painfully clear that our government is considering a measure that would provide amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants and create multiple problems for how we deal with those pouring over the border in the future.

Heritage experts crunched numbers throughout the weekend, weighing the cost both in dollars and in what it would mean to sacrifice the rule of law.

We provided analysis through blogging on heritage.org and through columns to sites such as National Review Online, where Heritage constitutional scholar Matthew Spalding built a devastating case for why the measure amounted to amnesty (see website, below).

http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=N2RhMmFlMzhjNTc1NjNiMDE1NTI1ZDI3ZGJmY2IzNmM

Again, Heritage did what the Senate failed to do: Inform the public.

But Heritage didn’t stop there. My colleagues continued to scrutinize every line of the bill, researched past proposals, and discussed alternative measures, churned out documents on the many problems of the legislation and how to solve them. (See website, below)

http://www.heritage.org/Research/Immigration/misc/index.cfm

Granting amnesty to illegal immigrants will eventually make them eligible for welfare, Social Security, Medicare and other government benefits.

Senior research fellow Robert Rector gave a preliminary estimate of the cost of amnesty to the taxpayer -- a whopping $400,000 per person over the average lifespan and age of entry for the illegal immigrant. Rector called the bill “a blank check to illegal immigrants written at taxpayer expense.” Again, Heritage did something the Senate refused to do: Think critically.

One of the many tragic results of this bill is that people will begin to flood over the border in numbers yet unseen in this country to register for the probationary period. An illegal immigrant needs only two affidavits (one of which can be from a family member) stating that he or she has been here and illegally working before January of this year. Any alien now in custody for entering the country illegally, or anyone caught crossing the border, will actually be offered the opportunity to fill out the paperwork to be put on the road to the entire package of U.S. benefits. Some 12 million people are estimated to take this first step to becoming a protected member of the United States on some level. They will immediately be able to enjoy free emergency health care, free public education and free welfare programs for children.

Another tragedy is the bogus background check. The federal government has only 24 hours to produce criminal records for probationary applicants before the protection status is granted. Just 24 hours! In many cases, it takes longer than that for a background check when a U.S. Citizen is arrested. Suppose three or five or 10 days later, a prior conviction is discovered? Too bad. That person is long gone, with a protection card in hand.

Perhaps this helps explain the secrecy that surrounded this bill – at least, until Heritage got a hold of it. According to Rector, “Any illegal immigrant during the next two years who enters the country and claims amnesty cannot be arrested, detained or deported. It’s essentially a get-out-of-jail-free card for future illegal immigrants.”

Our discussion around the table kept referring back to a previously written Heritage paper on principles of immigration reform (see website, below).

http://www.heritage.org/Research/Immigration/bg2034.cfm

Government must be founded on core principles. When it isn’t, matters can spiral out of control easily. In demanding that the Senate act on core principles, Heritage did what the Senate has neglected to do in writing the immigration bill: Use principles as a foundation for policy.

“First Principles” is a rally cry often heard at Heritage’s headquarters.

We’ll continue insisting on them -- and you can rest assured that we’ll keep you apprised of the latest developments in the immigration debate.

Egalitarian Rights for All: Citizens, Illegal Aliens and Enemy Combatants

The Democratic controlled Congress is proposing legislation that will give rights to America’s terrorist enemies as if they are criminal suspects as opposed to being enemy combatants’ intent on destroying America. This is the same Political Party utilizing political double speak offering amnesty to an estimated twelve million illegal aliens in America. This is the same Political Party that will make it easy for an estimated forty million Latinos to enter America and transform the political scene in America.

Here is the problem that polarizes in America; viz., the Democrats refuse to acknowledge there is a War on Terror.

Definitely rules of criminal law are far different than the rules of war.

And what is most terrible is that America's terrorist enemy is not a sovereign nation. The enemy is stateless terrorists that have not signed nor intend to honor the Geneva Conventions. Yet Democrats and global Leftists expect America to abide by the rules of the Geneva Convention with an enemy that has not signed the conventions and indeed cannot for the Islamofascist enemy is not a sovereign nation.

Is appeasement and political correctness so ingrained into Western thought patterns that there is no comprehension that there is an enemy that intends to end our way of existence? I can understand this moronic thinking in European society in which morality is totally subdued to Secular Humanism; a Secular Humanism that looks to be so egalitarian that there is a termination of Western Standards to equalize culture with intolerant foreigners. I am specifically speaking of Mohammedanism.

But in America! The thought is Liberty and Justice for all according a standard rule of Law, i.e. the United States Constitution. The U.S. Constitution owes its philosophy to Western philosophical heritage and to Judeo-Christianity. Until the Democrats and Secular Humanists began making their move in the 1960’s, all immigrants were expected to assimilate to the American way of life. Americans are not expected to be a land of multiple diversity in there are divergent cultural fiefdoms afforded a laws to themselves apart from ONE RULE OF LAW.

Thus Left Wing Democrats are also proposing civil rights to Stateless prisoners of war who had been attacking American soldiers and military. Is this nut wing thinking or what?

My Simplistic Take on Illegal Aliens

I am hardly an expert on the controversy surrounding illegal immigration and illegal aliens in America. Leftists recognize it is a complicated issue to resolve. Democratic Party Leftists apparently are for a complete amnesty and some legalized flow of Latinos from Mexico into America. The Democratic Party motive is less than altruistic as much as it is delusional power grabbing. The Democratic Party knows a legalized immigrant is a potential voting future citizen. Since the Democrats are pushing for amnesty they believe they will dominate the politics of the America’s future based on pure demographics.

Total Amnesty I believe will not benefit the Democratic Party as we know it today. As Latinos become hard working tax paying citizens, the Democrats will find naturalized Latinos may not be as much as an ally as they believed.

African Americans predominantly vote Democratic Party because the dog does not bite the master’s hand that feeds it. The Democratic Party has managed to compassionately enslave African Americans with welfare and priority status with affirmative action giving non-Caucasians jobs based on race and not achievement. That is compassionate enslavement.

Latinos on the other hand come to America to seek a better paying job. That means the majority of Latinos have a work ethic based on achievement. That is not the Democratic Party paradigm. Current Latinos may vote Democratic Party; however future Latinos will vote for a political Party that does not rob the benefit of their work by taxation. That is of course the Democratic Party manages to subdue the Latino and execute compassionate enslavement upon them as well.

The Republican Conservatives just want a black and white solution. If an immigrant or alien is illegal, that means they have broken the law. If the law is broken, illegal status aliens should be deported.

I am a Republican Conservative and I do not buy this outlook wholesale. I also believe the excuse that deporting illegals will hurt the American economy, because they do jobs Americans won’t do. That is boulder dash! Who did the mucky jobs before illegal Latinos entered America? That is a class issue, not a race issue. If anything illegals take away job opportunities from lower class economic Americans.

The problem I have with illegal aliens is not that they are in America illegally, but that they enjoy benefits that some American citizens do not enjoy (i.e. a class issue not a race issue). Also if an illegal alien breaks the law there is a huge percentage of that are not held accountable.

• And so I believe illegal aliens need to be classified:

• Hard working illegal aliens with a good work ethic.

• Criminal felonious illegal aliens.

• Illegal Drug association whether proven or not (if proven they can go to prison, if not proven they can be deported).

• Illegal aliens with an anti-American terrorist bent. If they are not citizens, they have NO place being here.

Simultaneously the borders have to be secured even if it cost a ton of money. Only the top tier illegal aliens should be afforded amnesty (or whatever legal illusive word a politician wishes to use).

Immigration starts at the border or press two for compromise

The Patriot Post
Patriot Vol. 07 No. 21 Digest 25 May 2007

E pluribus unum (http://PatriotPost.US/alexander/edition.asp?id=472)? Out of many, one? That national motto, as proposed by Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson in 1776, is often cited as speaking to the “great melting pot” of American immigration. But our Founders were not referring to immigrants. Rather, they were referring to the 13 colonies uniting as one.

In truth, there was very little “diversity” among our Founders. The four major migrations preceding 1775 were from the British Isles, with the notable exception of forced migration—better known as slavery. The uniformity of our heritage was, in fact, a major factor in the successful upstart of what is now the world’s longest-lasting democracy.

The Federalist Papers (http://PatriotPost.US/fedpapers/), the most comprehensive explication and defense of our Constitution (http://PatriotPost.US/alexander/edition.asp?id=487), written by our Constitution’s author, James Madison, and Founders Alexander Hamilton and John Jay, affirms the accuracy of this claim in the second of its 85 essays, “Concerning Dangers from Foreign Force and Influence.”

In that essay, John Jay writes: “Providence has been pleased to give this one connected country to one united people—a people descended from the same ancestors, speaking the same language, professing the same religion, attached to the same principles of government, very similar in their manners and customs...”

From 1675 to 1950, the vast majority of U.S. immigrants were English speaking and enjoyed similar heritage and customs, with the exception of some seven million Germans, Italians and Scandinavians who immigrated to the U.S. prior to 1930.

This is not to say that there isn’t room for ethnic and cultural diversity in America. It is to say that unless those who come here are fully integrated, rather than set apart as hyphenated-Americans, our United States will disunite.

After World War II, however, Latino immigrants began an illegal migration across our southern border. Between 1960 and 1990, that migration accelerated, and since 1990, the influx of illegal immigrants has reached critical mass.

All this brings us to the latest Senate attempt at so-called “immigration reform,” a 1,000-page tome (http://www.heritage.org/research/immigration/im62007.cfm) called the “Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007,” which took off like a lead balloon. Democrats were pushing for passage of this monster only days after its release, but as Fred Thompson noted, “That’s like trying to eat an eight-course meal on a 15-minute lunch break,” so Senate debate will now extend into June.

The “compromise legislation,” which is the most comprehensive immigration legislation in 40 years, provides amnesty for between 12 and 20 million illegal aliens, giving them, and their families, a permanently renewable “temporary” work permit called a “Z” visa. Put another way, it grants these illegals probationary status and allows them to move toward citizenship. Those who apply for the visas will have to pass a background check and pay a $5,000 fine for entering the U.S. illegally (which can be paid over eight years), but no back taxes. Would that the folks at the IRS were so charitable to the rest of us.

This bitter pill was given a very thin sugar coating of promises, such as hiring 6,000 additional border patrol agents, constructing an additional 370 miles of border barriers, and establishing a computer identification database which will, ostensibly, enable employers to verify the legal status of new employees. Once those benchmarks have been accomplished, additional foreign nationals would be allowed to enter the nation at an arbitrary rate of 200,000 per year, on guest-worker permits.

This asinine legislation will be no more effective than the last “comprehensive” reform attempts—the 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act and its predecessor, the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act—because like the previous legislation, the current version does not start by securing our borders.

Conservative estimates are that every day, about 3,200 illegal aliens (more than 96,000 of them each month) cross from Mexico into the U.S.

Any debate about immigration is useless unless it begins with a commitment to secure our southern border (http://PatriotShop.US/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=482&osCsid=426ced7bec3ca8bc75137125215a4be2) and coastlines. Moreover, as Ronald Reagan (http://Reagan2020.US/) declared, “A nation without borders is not a nation.”

Rep. Duncan Hunter, a longtime advocate of border security first, notes: “If we have border enforcement, we will be able at that point to start to regulate the internal problem. As long as you’ve got a revolving door—a 2,000-mile porous border, there is no way to regulate immigration. We need to build the border fence. We need to have a Border Patrol which is big enough to get the job done, and we need to demand [that those who] want to come into America, knock on the front door, because the back door is going to be closed.”

Of the 700 miles of border fencing Congress authorized last year, a grand total of two—yes two—miles have been completed.

But let’s just say, hypothetically, that Democrats and Republicans actually get serious about illegal immigration and work to close the border. Next, they will have to determine what to do about the millions of illegal immigrants already here. “Just round ‘em up and send ‘em back,” a page from Dwight Eisenhower’s 1954 “Operation Wetback” deportation playbook, has a devoted following, but does not take into account how socio-economically integrated five or six million illegals are now. And few politicians at the federal, state or local level have the political will to undertake another mass roundup and deportation.

Of course, the economic benefit case for retaining a large pool of unskilled agricultural and service industry laborers is overturned by the economic burden case (http://PatriotPost.US/news/highcost.asp).

Robert Rector, a senior research fellow at the nation’s premier think tank, The Heritage Foundation (http://www.heritage.org/), estimates, “This $2.5 trillion cost is going to come smashing into the Social Security and Medicare systems at exactly the point those systems are already going bankrupt. So the bottom line is that these individuals will make no net contribution in taxes while they are working. They will be a deficit. But when they hit retirement, they will be an astonishing cost on the taxpayer.” Rector warns that the Congressional Budget Office is providing only a 10-year estimate of costs, “but on year 15, it starts to cost a fortune. On year 30, it will bankrupt the Social Security system. It is a disaster, it’s a sham, and it’s a deception.”

Rector notes that of the estimated 4.5 million households of low-skill immigrants who pay taxes now, for every dollar paid in, those households receive an average of three dollars in taxpayer-funded services.

Responding to the firestorm over the Senate’s proposal, co-sponsor Ted Kennedy rebuts, “We hope that the voices of hatred and bigotry will silence themselves for this debate.” Here, we can only assume that Kennedy is talking about “haters and bigots” such as his Democrat colleagues Dick Durbin, Barbara Boxer, Byron Dorgan, Ben Nelson and Robert Byrd, all of whom have voiced objections to Kennedy’s legislation. (In particular, the moniker fits Byrd, a former Exalted Cyclops in the Ku Klux Klan now heralded by his colleagues as the “conscience of the Senate,” who once proclaimed, “I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.”)

If Kennedy and his ilk want to find out if Americans outside the Beltway want their “immigration compromise,” they should set up a toll-free number asking callers to press one for “bury it” and two for “pass it.” Of course, the Senate’s switchboard would probably greet callers as follows: “For English, press one. Para la prensa dos del espanol.”

Fred Thompson concludes, “There’s an old saying in Washington that, in dealing with any tough issue, half the politicians hope that citizens don’t understand it while the other half fear that people actually do... A nation without secure borders will not long be a sovereign nation. No matter how much lipstick Washington tries to slap onto this legislative pig, it’s not going to win any beauty contests.”

Newt Gingrich adds, “This is the most self-destructive bill for Republicans to be sponsoring that I have seen, maybe in my lifetime. You can’t imagine how bad this bill is going to be by the time people understand all of its details and how foolish its sponsors are going to look, at least on the Republican side, where there is some semblance of a belief of the rule of law...”

Far be it from me, though, to offer up all this criticism without serving up a solution.

As I outlined last year in an essay entitled “Insanity on bordering,” (http://PatriotPost.US/alexander/edition.asp?id=480) immigration legislation must first address national security issues (http://PatriotPost.US/alexander/edition.asp?id=285), meaning border security and enforcement are paramount.

Once border security has been established, the following priorities must be authorized and funded: immediate detention and deportation of those crossing our borders illegally; deportation of any foreign national convicted of a serious crime or seditious activity (http://PatriotPost.US/news/reconquista.asp); a guest-worker program (with reliable documentation as prerequisite) to meet the current demand for unskilled labor; penalties against employers who hire undocumented workers; no extension of blanket amnesty or fast-track citizenship (new citizenship applicants to the back of the line); the preservation and provision of tax-subsidized medical, educational and social services for American citizens and immigrants here legally, and the Americanization of new legal immigrants, including a national mandate for English as the official language and an end to bilingual education.

Additionally, the Supreme Court must affirm that there is no constitutional birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens. The 14th Amendment’s relevant clause reads “All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” Children born to those who have entered the U.S. illegally are not “subject to the jurisdiction thereof.” (More on that subject next week.)

If immigration policy does not start at the border, our national heritage will end there. Please support the national campaign to stop the compromise (https://secure.PatriotPost.US/support/alert.asp?a=1) and secure our borders.

Illegal Alien Islamofascists in America Over 20 Years

The Fort Dix Six were not only illegal aliens but were here in America for over TWENTY YEARS. Think about that in light of the White House and Senatorial bi-partisan legislation on alien immigrants.

I am a rare conservative that might favor the legislation as a compromise that will get things going. As I understand the legislation, security matters must be enhanced before the political speak for amnesty occurs. Frankly I give live with that as long as the security measures target known felons, gang members and Islamist radicals.

I can live with the majority of illegal aliens that came to America to find a better life through a good work ethic and paying taxes as all American citizens should. It is the illegal alien living in America intent on criminal or un-American activities that concern me.

In light of recent pending immigration legislation, the fact that the Fort Dix Six were in America illegally might or should give pause to think of the illegal alien problem America faces.

Jasser Demonstrates There can be a Moderate Mohammedanism

A symposium on the Fort Dix Six was conducted by National Review Online. NRO provides summaries from Mary Habeck, Victor Davis Hanson, M. Zuhdi Jasser, Daniel Pipes, and Robert Spencer. The opinions of the five are all excellent. Click on the link: “symposium on the Fort Dix Six” to read them all.

I have to tell you the summary I found most heartening was from M. Zuhdi Jasser. I personally have no idea as to who he is; however he is the first Mohammedan that I have read (that has not deserted Mohammedanism) that has spoken out against radical Islamism and radical jihad. This is awesome! If more Mohammedans follow Jasser’s lead and the so-called majority moderate Mohammedans speak out AGAINST radical Islamist terrorists, then there is an actual indication of a transformation that will place Mohammedanism among the religions of the world of which the purpose of most is some kind of path to peace.

If I see that the so-called majority moderate Mohammedan is speaking out to condemn the hatred of radical Islamism/jihad, then I will have to afford respect by calling Mohammedanism by the name they prefer: Islam. Until that day comes I will refer to that faith (death-cult) after the name of its founder: Mohammed.

A transformed Mohammedanism would be a religion that has chosen to selectively ignore the urging of violence against those who do not believe or trust Mohammed’s message as recorded in the
Quran and upheld in the Hadith, Sunna and Sharia Law.

Here is
M. Zuhdi Jasser’s summary:

News of the FBI’s arrests of six militant Islamists in New Jersey who plotted to kill our soldiers at Fort Dix was met yet again with the same tired responses of shock and dismissal from the mainstream media (MSM) and from major American Islamist organizations. An FBI agent poignantly noted that we “dodged another bullet.” The enemy is certainly rearming and germinating another cell somewhere. Rather than the same old tired minority politics, we in the Muslim community should be accepting the responsibility of cleaning our own house. More Muslims, more media, and more government officials should be noting that:

1) While most Muslims have never met militants like those arrested, Muslim organizations should understand that only Muslims hold the keys to the way to overwhelm and counter the ideology which fuels these radicals. Muslim organizations should be clamoring to expose and infiltrate the ideology and sources which drove these traitors to sprout their radical cell. We need an Islamic vaccine (the separation of spiritual Islam from political Islam) to the virus which afflicted these men. Until Muslim anti-Islamists can defeat Islamism (political Islam) as an ideology, we will not make any headway at preventing the germination of the next cell. We will only be left waiting, praying, for the FBI to help us, yet again, dodge the next bullet.

2) Will the FBI’s success here answer the question as to why we need to protect each and every citizen in America who practices the principle of “see something, say something” as the heroic video-store clerk (“John Doe”) did here? What if this “John Doe” had contrarily chosen to be silent due to a fear of litigation?

3) Will we continue to deny the fact that America is not exactly that far behind Europe in our susceptibility to homegrown terror cells?

Fort Dix Six

The homeland instruments utilized in the War on Terror successfully prevented the “Fort Dix Six” from going on a murderous rampage aimed at the American military.

These radical Islamofascists were all foreign born; however one was a naturalized citizen, two were legal permanent residents and three were illegal aliens.

I know it sounds harsh but no Constitutional Rights should be afforded illegal aliens, particularly in the case of committing murder in the name of radical Islam. The other three have a status should embrace Constitutional Rights and due process of law. The three illegal aliens should be treated as combatants without a nation; i.e. POW’s without even the Geneva Conventions granted to them.

Do the illegal alien radical Islamists come from nation that is at war with America? NO! They represent an organization with zero official ties to any government in the world. That means no one signed the Geneva Conventions that represent these murderers. We have a POW camp for such ugly cowards, it is called Guantanamo.

The article I read from CBS News sets forth facts but as at reads towards the end it slants to gaining sympathy for Indigenous Mohammedans. HELLO! The Fort Dix Six lived in America for quite some time among Indigenous Mohammedans. Do you think a Mohammedan informed on them?

In court documents, prosecutors said the suspects came to the attention of authorities in January 2006 when a Mount Laurel, N.J., shopkeeper alerted the FBI about a "disturbing" video he had been asked to copy onto a DVD. (CBS NEWS)

I may be wrong; however when the slanted left CBS News uses the word “shopkeeper” instead of identifying the hero, I suspect it is a non-Mohammedan that does not wish to meet a violent demise by the followers of the Religion of Peace. If I am wrong I apologize now, for it is possible a Mohammedan shopkeeper may also fear for his life. The shopkeeper deserves kudos either way it turns out.

I will update the info when I find who the shopkeeper is; the CBS News story is the first I have read.

The point though is this: The Mohammedans were long time residents planning a long term attack. The War on Terror is real and it still is affecting the American Homeland.

Unlike what Mohammedan attorney claims, this has everything to do with religion.

Judge suspended for jailing immigrants without bail

I know I am little late with this information since it is dated April 19 and it is nearing April 23 as I type. So some of you guys and gals may already be privy.

Judge Sue Carol Browning was sent before the Judicial Conduct Commission in Kentucky and there upon suspended from the bench April 28 through May 12.

What was Judge Browning’s misconduct? She jailed Mexicans without proof of residence until Federal authorities verified their status as legal or illegal. Furthermore the jailing was without bail. Thus Browning’s
judicial peers (evidently lefties) suspended her for misconduct.

Sentenced Border Guard Ramos Beaten in Jail by Mexicans

Okay I have to revisit the injustice done to two border patrol agents: Ignacio (Nacho) Ramos and Jose Compean.

These two American heroes were prosecuted without some evidence known as “discovery” and found guilty of shooting an illegal alien that had a million dollars in drugs stashed in a van the illegal alien was fleeing. Since the Prosecutor did not deliver all the “discovery evidence,” that means the convicting jury did not have all the facts.

I am sketchy on the details, but the illegal alien drug smuggler Aldrete-Davila managed to cross the Rio Grande to Mexico.

Here is where it gets incredible! Aldrete-Davila, a Mexican national, files charges for being shot in the buttocks. Can you imagine? Ramos and Compean were sentenced to jail for doing there job! That job being protecting the border!

It gets crazier! Ramos was beaten up in prison by illegal alien Mexican nationals!

How stupid can the Left get?

Here are some details by
Euphoric Reality.

Drug Smuggler Testimony Convicts U.S. Border Agents

© December 20, 2006

Jose Alonso Compean and Ignacio Ramos were border agents assigned to protect the border from illegal aliens and drug smuggling. Two years ago they ran into an illegal alien that crossed the American/Mexican border.

From here
two different versions of what happened are told.

The Compean and Ramos story is they found Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila on the American side with 800 pounds of Marijuana in his van. Osbaldo fled from his van making a bee line for the border where apparently a ride was awaiting his escape.

Ramos hears shots fired and assumes his partner Compean was being shot at. Indeed, moments later Ramos saw Compean on the ground. Ramos continues his foot pursuit.

Ramos saw Osbaldo point something at him. Hearing the previous gun shots Ramos assumed it was a gun, therefore Ramos shot at Osbaldo. Ramos thought he missed for Osbaldo escaped to Mexico.

I have no idea why authorities would believe the illegal alien; however Osbaldo was offered immunity to testify his version of the occurrence.

According to Osbaldo, one the border duo knocked him in the head with the butt of a gun after he was pulled over. Thus Osbaldo fled for his life in fear the border guards were going to kill him. Osbaldo claims as he was running he was shot and wounded by these vicious rogue border patrol Agents.

A jury evidently believed the Prosecution and Osbaldo for Compean and Ramos were found guilty and
sentenced to twelve and eleven years respectively by U.S. District Judge Kathleen Cardone in El Paso, Texas.

So check it out: Two American Border Agents working for the U.S. Government to prevent illegals and drugs from entering America were sent to prison for shooting a drug smuggler on the American side of the border as he fled and successfully escaped to Mexico.

Does that even sound right? If the Border Agents were over zealous they might warrant a suspension, but becoming convicted felons for striking fear into illegal alien drug smugglers? This is outrageous!

Twelve Congressman including Rep. Tom Tancredo (outgoing Chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus) have written and signed a letter to President Bush asking for a complete and comprehensive pardon for the convicted Border Agents. The White House refuses to discuss its intentions one way or the other.

There
is also a petition circulating that has garnered 130,000 signatures. Could it be possible that President Bush will side with Mexican illegal alien drug smugglers?

Reagan Would Not Repeat Amnesty Mistake

Edwin Meese III was President Ronald Reagan’s Attorney General. Here is an illegal immigration opinion he wrote for Human Events Online that I received from Blind Conservative.
