Easier for Felon to Vote than American Military

Move Forward America (MAF) is really pushing the cause of enabling military personnel the ability to vote.

In this email from MAF an excellent case is being made: States are going out of their way to provide convicted felons and Illegal Aliens the right to vote, yet American Military personnel have a rough time exercising that right.

I say with MAF: WHAT’S UP?

Help a Soldier to Vote

I have discovered through a Move America Forward (MAF) email that the brave Patriotic American soldiers fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq are not being accommodated with a simple way to vote in the November 2008 election.

Although I know there are a few Slanted Left military personal in the American Armed Services (e.g. HERE and HERE), for the most part they are Center Right politically.

America’s bureaucracy has a huge Slanted Left membership.

Ergo it should not be a shock as to why the government bureaucrats AND the Democrat Party dominated Congress is not providing an easy way for Armed Service Personnel to vote. The Leftists know the overwhelming support would be for McCain. In a close election this is a BIG DEAL.

Move America Forward is asking for monetary donations to organize the sending of Absentee Ballots to Armed Service Personal in foreign nations that would find it difficult to vote.

Thus I am posting MAF’s email ad to hopefully move readers to support the right to vote for soldiers overseas, Afghanistan and Iraq.

U.S. TROOPS IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN DENIED THE RIGHT TO VOTE!

Move America Forward

I was stunned when I learned our government has disenfranchised the very people who give YOU AND ME the freedom to vote. United States troops have liberated people in Iraq and Afghanistan and given them the gift of voting. Remember the purple fingers? It is outrageous that our troops don't have the same ability to vote as they fight for America.

When we heard about this, we couldn't believe it could be true. But after we have thoroughly researched it, the ugly truth is starting to come out. Most U.S. Troops in Iraq and Afghanistan will not get a chance to vote this year because bureaucrats and politicians in Washington have done absolutely nothing to repair a systemic problem that literally stops most of our troops from voting.

WE HAVE TO STEP IN AND MAKE SURE OUR TROOPS VOTE

We need to urgently print absentee ballot applications and send them to the troops directly ourselves since politicians and bureaucrats have totally failed them. But we need your help to pay for the cost of printing the absentee ballot applications and the mailing costs to Iraq and Afghanistan. If you can help, please CLICK HERE and make a contribution.

The worst thing about this is that we are suspicious that there is more than bureaucratic incompetency at work here. You and I have worked together to support our troops and their mission. But there are those who oppose us; they know the troops support their mission to rid the world of Islamic terrorists who are bent on destroying the United States. We can't help but believe that some of this failure is caused by leftist anti-troop bureaucrats and politicians who DON'T WANT THE TROOPS TO VOTE!

Only 5.5 percent of U.S. troops serving overseas were able to vote and actually have their vote counted in 2006, according to the Federal Election Assistance Commission. We should be guaranteeing that EVERY SINGLE MILITARY MAN AND WOMAN will have their ballot counted. CLICK HERE IF YOU CAN HELP

CONGRESS IS DISGRACEFUL IN FAILING TO ACT

The House and Senate are currently stalling on legislation that would improve troops' access to voting. A resolution for Congress to crack down on the Department of Defense to streamline the voting process for soldiers has been introduced by Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO), but the proposal has been blocked by politicians in the House of Representatives. Blunt's resolution is now stuck in the House Armed Services subcommittee with no prospects of moving forward.

But while we fight the battle in Congress, you can help our troops participate in the freedom of voting that they fight for everyday. Move America Forward has a plan to assist our men and women in war zones who want to vote!

HELP MOVE AMERICA FORWARD GET BALLOTS TO OUR TROOPS

We want to send 100,000 federal post card applications to our troops to help ensure every serviceman or servicewoman can get the ballots they need to vote. MAF has put together a HEROES' VOTING PACKET that will help give our soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen the information they need to get a ballot and have their vote counted in 2008

But voting deadlines are rapidly approaching in some states and the mail delivery times from Iraq and Afghanistan can be long. We must get the packets printed now, but we don't have the funds to do it. We need your help so our military men and women will be able to vote.

Please help our military heroes get the paperwork they need:

The Muslim Brotherhood and Voting

God bless Act! For America! I am so grateful I signed up to be on their email list. Act! For America is awesome in delivering educational articles of Islamism and Mohammedanism. In case you did not know it, Act! For America is also making a huge effort at grassroots education of the wickedness of Islamism, which by the way most of the Mohammedan-America organizations in the USA are dominated by that political ideology.

Act! For America has sent me an illuminating article by Douglas Farah which concerns the Islamist Fifth Column that is attempting to use Democracy as a vehicle to bring the West and establish intolerant Mohammedanism and Sharia Law.

Act! For America Email Introduction:

The eye-opening commentary below illustrates why a government focus on terrorism to the exclusion of “Cultural Jihad” is foolish and dangerous. It illustrates why the purveyors of political correctness, who go to great lengths to tolerate Islamic intolerance, are helping to plant the seeds of our own destruction. Lastly, it illustrates why it is so important that concerned, informed citizens in democratic societies like ours rise up in a unified, organized voice within the civic and political process – before we lose the right to express that voice.

If one wants to get a more realistic picture of how the Muslim Brotherhood and its international legacy organizations view voting and the democratic process than the usual platitudes of their public discourse, it is well worth reading the
Guide to Voting in Islam, posted by the Muslim Association of Britain.

This document and commentary on its content was first posted on the
Global Muslim Brotherhood Daily Report, available for a free subscription.

Because in political Islam there is no difference between the state and religion, voting itself becomes, as one British Imam is quoted in the document as saying, a form of Jihad:

I consider Muslim political participation, especially in a non-Muslim country, as a form of jihad. This is our country and it would be foolish not to participate in the political processes which eventually shape our future and that of Islam. I support marching in the streets to raise awareness about certain issues. However, if we really want to change the status-quo then we have to influence those who walk the corridors of power. Muslims need not only to vote but put forward Muslim candidates in all the mainstream and serious independent parties. We need to be represented or be present at the tables around which policies are discussed, made and agreed.

The Guide to Voting offers grudging support for alliances with non-Muslims if the alliance is for the good of the Muslim population. Totally absent is the consideration of what is good for the country in which the Muslim individual is voting. This is made explicitly clear in a quote by Abdur Raheem Green, Dawah Administrator of the Central Mosque of London included in the Guide:

It has long been my position that any type of participation in democracy is a type of approval of that system. I have no doubt that democracy is antithetical to Islam. However, having read and listened to the sayings of many scholars on this issue, and being faced with the reality of a growing Muslim population here in the UK, who for all intents and purposes consider this their home, it has become clear to me that we must participate in every aspect of society as much as possible to ensure our rights and continued existence and well being in this society. This participation most certainly includes voting for whichever party or candidate best serves the needs and interests of the UK and indeed world wide Muslim population. This does not mean approval or acceptance of the ideal of secular democracy, but the intention is to use the means and avenues available to benefit Muslims and the communities we reside in.

That seems pretty straightforward to me. There is not a commitment to the fundamental concept of freedom and multi-party democracy. There is solely a commitment to establishing an Islamic state, and if that can be advanced through participating in elections, then so be it.

This ties in with the calls of the MB legacy groups in the United States to get Sen. John McCain
stop using the adjective Islamic to describe radical Islamist terrorists.

The charge is led by Muneer Fareed of ISNA, who says that “I think this is just criminality, fair and square. We should just call them criminals. You want to call them terrorist criminals, fine. But adding the word ‘Muslim’ or ‘Islamic’ certainly doesn’t help our cause as Americans.”

But therein lies the rub, because it is clear from the Guide, and many other writings, that the MB’s primary loyalty is not to whatever country they live in, but to the establishment of an Islamist state. And the terrorists define themselves as acting on behalf of Islam, and embrace the word.

So on whose behalf is Fareed and ISNA speaking? One must always ask that when dealing with the MB.

Enfranchisement in America

What do you think about utilizing tests to qualify a citizen the ability to vote?

The Stiletto blog came across an article written by Jonah Goldberg suggesting this very same thing.

I understand the rationalization: a huge segment of eligible voters are horribly uninformed and thus indifferent to voting or vote an ideological propagandized line associated with life time familial Party association or the journalism of their favorite media.

The former is irresponsible and the later is dangerous because media and educational institutions (teachers and professors) are highly dominated by Left leaning or secular humanistic thinking. Those that are mentors in education often teach a leftist slant or dumb down civics to disinterested students.

Here is a shocker for you though: I disagree with conservative The Stiletto and Jonah Goldberg. This is my simple reasoning: My childhood was the late ‘50’s and the 60’s. I remember the “
Jim Crow” tests that African-Americans were forced to take when they were of age to vote to qualify to vote. In the South Caucasians were given a simple test, African-American were given a test that Caucasians would even fail. The result: Whites voted and Blacks were prohibited from voting.

It is interesting to note that the Founding Fathers had the same concern about qualified voters as opposed to potential ignorant voters. Thus the Founding Fathers tagged
voter eligibility to age and property ownership. If you were not a tax paying property owner, you were not able to vote. The rational was if you had the smarts to manage your property, you probably had the smarts to make informed voting decisions.

Jim Crow were racially prejudiced and property rights voting were a concern about informed privilege. The evolution of voting enfranchisement in America has done away with both.

So how does America further evolve voting so that uninformed morons (not a reference to IQ but rather to laziness) become informed responsible voters? Presenting laws to a retroactive past will cause more problems than solve them.

My thought is to provide various levels of neutral civics lessons in primary and secondary education as the best way to enable a responsible voting consciousness. Thus when a person becomes enfranchised at eighteen if the person chooses to vote (indifference factor), a person can vote responsibly according to the personal political choices. Voting enfranchisement can never return to race exclusion, wealth certification (i.e. property) or intellectual testing. These factors simply disenfranchise too many citizens.

Non-American residents (legal or illegal) are the only group of people that should be non-enfranchised in the USA. That is right: ONLY citizens should have the right to vote.
