I usually write or post politics here; however I just read something that casual bloggers and Internet surfers should be interested in. Cell companies have an aim to ban free WiFi. That means if you are lucky enough to be in a location that has free hotspots via WiFi, Cell companies want to end your free access. Why? WiFi is cutting into their bottom line.

As you read this article the thought that might come up is: Who owns the Internet? Is it private corporations or government? I am actually semi-ignorant on the history of the Internet; I am fairly certain the World Wide Web was a government and military instrument of communication. Then somehow Bill Gates invented the PC or at least its popular version.

That would make the Internet a public domain rather than something to be controlled by profit. It is the old question of the collective versus ownership. READ IT

US Senators call for direct strikes on al-Qaeda inside Pakistan

Obviously al Qaeda and the Taliban are dominating the Waziristan region of Pakistan. To the credit of the Democratic Party dominated Senate, there is a suggestion that America should attack known terrorist and terrorist training camps within Pakistan.

A Pakistani envoy has warned that such action might topple the Musharraf dictatorship that has been playing Islamists and America so far to America’s benefit. The implication being an American attack on Terrorist stronghold’s within Pakistan might topple Musharraf. Such demise would portend an Islamist take over of already nuclear Pakistan.

So the question becomes do we attack monsters directly responsible for 9/11 or protect a Mohammedan asset in Musharraf?

I was not a fan of ex-Senator George Allen. When the early spotlight was on him as a potential Presidential candidate he just imploded with public character flaws. These are not the kind of flaws the Republicans could afford in a future Presidential candidate.

In 2006 Allen became embroiled in an unexpected challenge from a Democrat who was famous as a novelist. Apparently Webb’s fiction writing skills did well for his campaign for he now is the Senator of Virginia, winning a very slim victory over Allen.

Now I say Webb’s fictional skills were awesome because Webb did not beat Allen on his character flaws, rather Webb weaved a tail of bad ethics in Allen reporting his income. The lie coupled with Allen’s character flaws cost him his Senatorial seat and possibly ruined his political career.

Democrats lie to win elections against Republicans. That friend is heinous and Webb should be called to the carpet for spinning a lie from laws that were not broken.

America Agrees to include Iran and Syria in Iraq Diplomatic Effort

There is an apparent move to have an international diplomatic meeting pertaining to stability in Iraq. Check this out: Iran and Syria are expected to be part of this meeting.

With all the counter saber rattling from America and Israel about a military attack on Iranian nuke locations, this is big news. If this meeting that is scheduled for March 10 moves forward; it is an implication that there will be no military action between now and March 10. Or at least no military action would occur by America. Against all politically correct odds, Israel may use the opportunity for a surprise attack.

I suspect if these talks on how to make Iraq a stable nation goes sour because of Iranian and Syrian recalcitrance, America and Israel may act in tandem or separately against Iran.

The Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) presents an image of glowing diplomacy in progress. However CFR also proclaimed the deal North Korea was a break through moment and justification for diplomacy. North Korea’s deal was Clintonian, i.e. all talk and no verified accountability and lots of perks given to North Korea. If Iran and Syria participate in such a glowing diplomatic accord, expect the two rogue nations to strengthen their military prowess and funnel some military strength to their client terrorists. Look to Iran to become a Middle Eastern nuke power to export their Shi’ite Twelver Messianism among Mohammedans. Look for temporary instruments to cool off insurgents in Iraq; however the Sunnis will quash any deal Syria and Iran set out to monitor insurgency.

As one of the preconditions to meet with its regional rivals on Iraq, the United States had set a series of benchmarks (WashPost) for the government in Baghdad to meet, such as striking a deal on revenue sharing of oil profits. Shortly after Iraq’s deeply divided leadership agreed to such a deal, true to its word, the White House agreed to participate (NYT) in an international conference, tentatively set for March 10, which will include Syria and Iran on the issue of bringing stability to Iraq. The two sets of meetings, which Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice announced during House testimony and is expected to attend at the foreign ministerial level, marks the latest in a series of about-faces by the White House. It is becoming evident that a Democratic controlled Congress is compelling the Bush Administration to take the path of Appeasement (like Neville Chamberlain) for peace in our time. Just as in the past Appeasement failed, so it will in the present. My God, America needs a Churchill!

As if that affects the globes future more than Messianic/Islamofascist terrorists or psycho North Korea, talk about global warming.
