Daniel Pipes writes a brief summary of President Bush’s historical legacy followed by conclusions about the success or failure of the Bush Agenda. I agree with Pipes’ outline of President Bush’s outstanding beginning and half heartedly agree with Pipes’ conclusions.
The conclusions are wholly negative. I have to admit deservedly so.
For me President Bush’s two terms in office is like Bush my hero and Bush my disappointment. The Bush agenda is still valid except maybe the valiant effort to export Western Democracy to a people whose Theo-political belief system purely cannot grasp or agree with the concepts of individual liberty and civil freedoms.
The Bush Agenda would have to become a true imperialist (as were the early Mohammedan conquerors) to force a change in religiously held beliefs of submission to Allah which over the years has given incredible social power to Mohammedan clerics and the rulers that manage or support the clerics.
In the Western World 21st century that would be totally be politically incorrect and would probably start a coalition of Westerners to bring down American geopolitical hegemony even though concepts of American Liberty more than once saved Western Europe from Statist despotism.
The Bush political interference in military strategy in post Saddam Iraq has prevented an outright victory against terrorism there. If the initial strategy was comparable to the current “Surge” then the implementation of civil administration would probably be more assured today. It may have alienated both Sunni and Shia factions initially; however without terrorist enclaves the Mohammedan understanding of power would have pacified violent opposition to American occupation and allowed time to build a new Iraqi political infrastructure. Admittedly the new infrastructure would not resemble Western Democracy. It would probably resemble more a democratic republican oligarchy in which tribes and clerics managed a system based on Mohammedan culture (hopefully not a total reliance on Sharia Law).
President Bush the disappointment is the Bush that implemented a faulty post Saddam clean up fearing the wrath of the Arab supporting/oil dependant Western allies that combined could hamper American National Interests. The coalition of the willing were militarily weaker mostly Eastern European governments that have admired American Liberty and wished to court American favor in case the big bear of Russia tried to rebuild its empire realized under Soviet Communism.
The Bush failure to date in the War on Terror was not the agenda but the failure of West Europeans controlling the European Union to comprehend the danger to Western Culture presented by Islamofascist transnational terrorists and Islamist rogue nations and individual Islamist billionaires (Mostly Saudi) who support the concept of a Global Jihad.
The EU failure to join the Bush Agenda could potentially weaken the Western Culture of the future to withstand Islamist attacks. And I am not necessarily writing of military or terrorist attacks, but the allowance of a Mohammedan Trojan Horse to infiltrate our culture and weaken our resolve to retain Liberty, Freedom and Democratic Institutions.
The Bush disappointment is a failure of realization of European Union peoples to comprehend the threat.

In the post "Is There a Bush Agenda Obscured from both Democrats and Republicans," I have expressed my growing disillusionment of President Bush. The early Bush Agenda was awesome, however in the latter part of the Bush Administration he appears to be collapsing to the pressure of the Democrats. Most importantly there seems to be an emerging nefarious agenda that even Conservative Republicans would be appalled if it pans out to be true.
This is talk of some kind of North American Union, i.e. a union of Canada, America and Mexico as one confederated nation. This end the Founding Fathers dream of a Constitutional America, a new Constitution would have to come into existence to merge the cultures of Canada, America and Mexico.
Again if true, it would be a huge betrayal of America’s Conservative Movement. If such an agenda is proven, it would doom America to supporting the Leftist Democratic Party. If the Democrats gain power it would be the end of America as the Founding Father’s envisioned it. If this North American Union thing is true and wins out, it too would end the foundation of the Founding Father’s vision of America.

(Manassas, Virginia) In response to the March 13 New York Times article, “GOP Voters Voice Anxieties on Party’s Fate,” which reported on the results of a national poll indicating that Republican voters are not satisfied with the choice of candidates seeking the presidential nomination, Richard A Viguerie, author of Conservatives Betrayed: How George W. Bush and Other Big Government Republicans Hijacked the Conservative Cause, released the following statement:
“There is very little in this poll that would lead the Bush Administration and Republicans in Congress to think they are on the right track. It showed that just 34 percent of all respondents had a favorable view of the Republican Party and, by a 20-point margin, voters would favor a Democrat over a Republican for president.
“If the present situation continues and America is still fighting in Iraq next year, Republicans will be swept out of office all the way from the courthouse to the White House.
“As a result, Republican primary votes are looking for--but have not found--an effective conservative leader. Over the last 10 years, no Republican has stepped forward as a conservative leader. While all of the GOP presidential candidates but Rudy Guiliani claim to be a conservative, none of them have consistently spoken out against the liberal excesses of President Bush and the former Republican-controlled Congress, with the exception of Ron Paul.
“It appears most of the GOP presidential candidates believed that, to get along, they had to go along with the Republican Establishment. While some of the candidates are better than others, none of them have interested, much less excited, even a significant minority of conservatives. It’s possible one of the existing candidates will catch fire with conservatives but not likely.
“President Bush’s legacy may be to preside over the GOP’s demise. In the 1993 elections in Canada, the ruling Progressive Conservative Party suffered a disastrous defeat and was left with a grand total of only two seats in the House of Commons. The party never again won more than 20 seats, out of 308, and officially dissolved in 2003. However, it was replaced by the new Conservative Party of Canada, which is led by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
“If the Republican Party continues on its present course, it will follow in the footsteps of the Progressive Conservative Party in Canada. Then, perhaps out of the ashes of the George W. Bush GOP, a new phoenix will arise to lead the U.S. in a conservative direction.”
There is the emerging appearance of a Watergate type scandal that may link to the White House. Is the scandal related to the Iraq War? Only in an off hand way is the answer.
The scandal has to do with the mysterious choice to allow prosecution of people who are obviously framed or set up to take a fall.
The first to come mind is Scooter Libby. The purpose for his prosecution is ludicrous and had zero to do with leaking Valerie Plame’s name to the Mainstream Media (MSM). Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald had a mandate to go after the person who leaked a useless CIA agent (Plame) to the MSM. Fitzgerald did not go after the person who he did know (viz. Richard Armitage); rather he went after a person that could embarrass the Bush Administration (Libby). Libby had zero to do with the leak.
The next judicial mystery has to do with Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. At first I believed this was just Left Wing bureaucracy persecuting the Conservative agenda to favor spread favor to the benefit of the Democrat Party. These prosecutions are beginning to take on the image of President Bush having a hand in the prosecutions. He has not spoken publicly of the outrageous actions. Bush’s power base is calling for Executive Pardons for Libby, Ramos and Compean; however it is as if Bush has ear plugs and blinders on.
Is there a secret agenda that even the Republican base would be horrified with? Could the unthinkable be correct put forth about Bush? Is the Bush agenda more than a Conservative agenda? Will Bush prove this an insane speculation and step up with the stones to pardon Ramos, Compean and Libby?
